would you like to Create And Design your own cape

I think that it would be a very great idea to let guilds create and design there own capes.


Example: Your Draw or Design you a cape on your computer, but there is no way for you to get to use your awsome design.

Well I think that it would be a great idea if the Guild Wars administration would allow us to use a self-designed emblem on our capes.


Reply on weather or not you think this is a good idea or not.

Always sounds like a good idea until you see the first cape with a large male member on it.

It's a good idea for sure...but not feasibly implementable. Without some sort of control over what was and wasn't allowed you'd have capes displaying the letters FU, you'd see capes displaying images of male/female genetalia...it would eventually get to the point where capes had Swastikas or other derogatory symbols....and it would, ofcourse, be impossible for ArenaNet to be burdened with approving cape designs for every guild that wanted one.

yes those are all good reasons why they wouldn't allow it to happen. But They would have many automatic blocks on alot of things that are pornagraphic and un-descent.

All it would take is some smooth cpu programming...;}

Not to mention the fact that everytime you entered town GW would have to download a bunch of new cape info.

I love to have my own customized cape.

But even with automatic blocks, some ppl will still find a way to make a design that will pass through that blocker and send their vulgar themes to everyone.

first their design seemed to be normal, look to it closely and there is something there.

I think if this happen, I'll patent a cape with the letters "WTS" on it. I think I'll charge membership for people to join my guild.

I'm still waiting for /hidecape and /hidehelm. Let's not pester them about anything else while the cape queue is still full with one item.

I think custom designs would be too hard to handle, both in bandwidth sense and a content sense.

Well i'd like to have more cape designs, but I know they're not going to allow users to upload their own designs. However, i'm sure they'll have a contest sometime (hopfully soon) where we can submit designs.

Its not just the fact that you can upload a cape design and it has the possibility of being some innapropriate image. Its the fact that you are uploading something to their server that is displayed everywhere. Someone could attach some sort of virus to the image that could be flowers for all they care, and then upload it to the server. It's approved, and then every person in-game suffers severe lag problems, or some other problem created by some computer nerd who has nothing better to do with their life than to fancy off the thought of someone suffering from a line of numbers that they created.
This is the main reason why this feature won't be implemented.

But i would like to have my own custom cape, and let the guild marker be a cape OR a headband/wristband/belt/eyepatch/toenail whatever i want my cape

a good idea but will not be welcome, to many idiots around that would upload xxx material, just have a look at Counter Strike its full of them...

It would be cool if the capes sorta went a little better with the classes. I think Necros look just plain silly with the capes everyone has. You should be able to make them shredded and battle worn.

you can make them shredded but then it looks a little odd with all the pristine shiny armor

they could upload blockers so that they couldn't put anything XXX on the game.
