When you die, you get a death penalty which reduces a percentage of your maximum health and energy for the duration of the mission. This percentage slowly recovers as you and your team kills enemies.

It also adds one to your /deaths count.

you will never lose loot or experience or levels only a temporaty hit to health and energy which is canceled by returning to any outpost or town
