Dmg Reduction?

I have searched so, here goes

Recently i have purchased the 15k set of "Ascalon", and i was wondering, Since this set has the Reduces damage effect, is this global?, or has it been changed to area hit, damage reduction/not hit no damage reduction. Also, what is the total damage reduction for the entire set?, Does it stack? and how does my major absorbion come into play with the armors natural damage reduction. as in, whats the total dmg reduced from lets say, a 10 dmg hit with no dmg reduction, to a 10 dmg hit - the reduce

Searching does work. Try "absorption armor damage reduction"

Ok after doing some tests on a single charr axe wielder, i would like to dispell the rumour of "global" dmg reduction, only wearing the boots caused few -0's and alot -9 through -14, after laying on the chest only, i noticed many -3 through 1s Full on (helm included, i was invincible to 10 charr. i hope this helps, and if im wrong please, explain why
