best sword upgrade

I got this max dmg sword and I want to upgrade it but then I realized I had no Idea of what I should upgrade it with, so if any one out there thinks they have a good upraded sword then I would be happy to know what I should get.

Personally I'd go with a Zealous of Defense(Armor +5) .

im a big fan of furious weapons. defense is an extremely solid suffix unless you need 20% enchanting.... defense is one of the best choices.

Ignore everything, no matter how good it looks on paper, that isn't vampiric, zealous, defense, or enchanting.

vampiric and zealous carry the -regen which simply DOESNT work in many builds, they are NOT the end all be all choice.

I realize that. However, the topic creator asked a very general question with any specifications, so I answered in a very general sense as well. Oh, and I forgot elemental upgrades.

It's always good to keep a couple of backup swords with different types of elemental damage on hand. That way if you suddenly find yourself up against ice monsters or something, you can quickly call upon a more specialised, but more effective, weapon to deal with them.

As for your main sword, I prefer armour upgrades myself. I don't really see any use for health upgrades, as the amounts they give you won't be of much use -- you'll either be in an area so easy you never need it, or you'll be in an area so hard that it won't make any difference due to the massive amounts of damage you'll receive. Armour upgrades are more beneficial in the long haul.
