Double Teaming in the HoH
RTSFirebat
Hall of Lamers more like it!
Yesterday I joined in a well balanced party in the HoH for the first time and we has a great time.
We were on the map were there are 6 (Or is it 8?) teams, with a ghosty hero, a priest and flags to capture areas... after taking out 2 teams we came across the two last remaining teams.
Both were from European server... ok that's cool. We sat there, while both these teams also waited. After a while one of them came at us, we battled them back, the fight was great, but it was all for nothing.
The other team moved in killed our Priest and then HELPED the other team kill us, while dead on the ground I could see that they were in fact helping each other before moving onto one another.
A much as I like to see Europe get the favour, this is not the right way to go about it.

This adds to the whole faction side of being in america/europe/korea. Plus it's essential to double team a HoH spirit group.

Welcome to the most retarded map (maybe 6 way gank is worse) and most important in tombs.
2v1s are stupid but so is the concept of running an entirely defensive build designed solely to hold the altar.

The entire point of tombs is to have a fully adaptable build to all kinds of objectives. The 2x teaming is part of it, if you dont like it, dont complain about it.

Easy answer. Europe wanted favor. They dont get it often, Uw and Fow is off limits to them most of the time. More reason to gank I guess.
RTSFirebat
Is Ganked even a word? I mean does it have a real meaning?

Welcome to tombs.

If you pvp'd often you'd know what getting ganked was. It's basically like getting jumped by another team, or another player (in other rpgs that let you pvp 1v1).

I personally think the whole idea of "king of the hill" where you have to get your ghostly hero on some altar is just STUPID. Honestly why the HELL isn't the HoH map just alright, last group standing wins? Afterall shouldn't that make for some much more interesting battles? I'd much rather defeat the other teams than just try to get my hero on the altar where he can be blocked by the last few idiots standing there.
Honestly, I'll get the God's attention when I kill everyone me thinks. Hell it's not like they'll notice that any less than a half-transparent guy anyway. I always get so tweaked when it's not me that loses, it's things like guild lords or ghostly heroes that screw me over. Honestly if I can survive there shouldn't be a problem, but no! I have to waste my time protecting the useless son of a *ghost* so he can stand in the middle.
I wouldn't mind double teaming so much if it was ONLY mass chaos and killing things, that'd be some majorly intense PvPing, but it's the fact that you've got to fight off two teams while paying attention to all the other stuff that pisses me off, especially when there are such mediocre ways of winning that way without being able to kill the other teams.

Europeans are taking a page from Koreans playbook. lol that's more common then you may think... We see it more often then not. lol they don't care as long as its their country maintaining favor. lol it works for a while but eventually the impromptu alliances breakdown. lol I like the veriaty of maps for the Hall... the random choices are nice. heck 1/2 the time we go straight to the hall of heroes... so I can't complain...

I donĀ“t like teaming-up against one enemy. The one case when I do that is against spirit spam group in the King of the Hill maps. Spirit spammers in my opinion ruin the game (the PvP part).

One time I was in the HoH with a spiker team (I was a prot monk), 1 American vs 3 European. The other teams yelled "LETS KILL AMERICANS" "GANG ON AMERICANS" *German screaming* *French* "GEORGE BUSH" "KILL AMERICANS" "YAAAH"
So the first team ran at us and we killed all of them in three minutes, got out and then the yellow team ran at us, killed them in 5 minutes. ^^
Anyway, I see Americans say all the time "Let's gang the Koreans!" "Let's gang Europe" I hear Europe say "Hey, let's all kill Korea" sometimes "Let's all kill Americans!"
I rarely ever see Korean teams gang, but I don't HoH much O.o

You think you're having a hard time??
Try playing with the [iQ] tag above your head. It's like frickin bull's eye on your back. People will go so far as to ensure their own lose just to spite us and attempt to keep us from winning. Of course we pretty much accept it at this point and it's that much sweeter when we win but it makes it pretty tough to get to the hall let alone win it. =/

Healing ball with bonding/seed/wards, mass springs and spirits, etc, many versions.
The 2v1 nature is obviously stupid, yet at the same time it's needed. That's why the nature of 'holding' the hall is so dumb. You just need the minimal offense needed to gank the altar away and then sit there. Why tombs was made to be so luck based in the first place is beyond me.

I'm not, I just think its unfair and cheap. And I don't think any build in this game can be done about 16 W/Mo pounding on my Whiring Defence |

I don't see anything wrong with temporary truces to get the main threat/enemy. If some Euro/Korean/American teams form a temp truce to take out Koreans/Americans/Euros I have no prob with it. It's online warfare afterall.
If I was to b*tch about something I would b*tch about the concept of WaW/Favor. IMO it sucks.

Um..just because you were double-teamed by two European teams does not mean they had some sort of planned alliance to beat you. Consider the Third team's perspective, the one that attacked you while you were fighting the second team. Sounds like to me they did exactly what they needed to do to increase their own chances of winning, and if you are the victims, well then, tough...don't blame them for using 'underhanded' tactics, blame the stupid map for making such tactics the correct way to play.
Burial Mounds has a load of luck in it, simple as that.
As for the Hall, its pretty obvious why its structured like that..the time limit. This allows ANet to regulate how often the HoH message appears, sigil drops, etc. Yes there is luck involved but Hall, unlike GvG, is an environment where it is beneficial to have lots of new winners, since it is an ongoing tournament, and how boring would it be if one team just kept racking up wins like they would if it was 1v1 all the time? GvG is for 1v1, to show which team is plain better, tombs is 1v1v1 to add a touch of luck and introduce other tactics. Nothing wrong with Tombs map structures except for the stupid 6-ways.
