So, me and my friends quit our old guild because leader was an ass, decided to make our own guild. We had 10 or so members in the first few days, all was going fine, then 2 people quit. Yeah, not too bad, we can find a few members. Then the person I made guild leader (a girl, for designing the most feminine cape possible) broke up with an officer in our guild, then things went down hill from there. We are now 6 people. 2 of them are never on, 1 doesn't really, err, play. So it's basically 3 people using our guild as a chat room. We don't want to join another guild, for fear of our guild name being taken immediately (Pretty Horsies Arouse Greatly). I feel i'm missing out on quite a bit of the game like this, compared to previous guilds. What can we do without spending days in pre sear yelling PHAGS RECRUITING! WE HAVE GAY CAPES!
Is the guild doomed?
Just... bad guild.. thingy....

That is quite possibly the best name for a Guild I have ever heard. Expecially the tag.

Best advice... don't make a leader position a Honorary thing... no no.. That's always a bad situation... if you want to reward em, make em an officer or something sure... Or give em a Gold item from Guild inventory, or something like that. Heck we even gave out a Sigil once as a reward and they went and started their own guild. which we still play with quite often. I consider it a Sister Guild to ours and treat it as such. I just wish we could have Invites (as guests) to our guild hall. for making our Allied GvG matches. but alas that's kind of hard to code for... so prob not.. makes it easy for Unrated GvG practice though.

My...god..... i will join, thats THE GREATEST guild i have ever heard of

My "guild" has been around for 3 months now and still it's only me and a friend. We've had people come and go but they never explained why - which baffles me since I've always been honest about what our guild (albeit extremely small one) is about. I've come to the conclusion that the only way to get members to stay in your guild are if:
(a) members are your friends in real life or
(b) the members are mature/sociable - since the immature/unsociable ones will only want to be in a guild that is big or is on a high position on the ladder (i.e. playing the game for bragging rights rather than for fun). As soon as another guild which is doing better on the ladder gives them an offer, they'll leave.

Well I feel for you for sure, I started this game in a guild with friends but 1/2 were still dedicated to other games (WoW & CoH) and so there was NOT allot of grouping going on.
I left and joined another guild but again I didn't get the right feeling as they too were NOT playing together much or didn't make much an effort to the new person.
I then started up with a guild who'd I'd befriended while making Fissure runs but alas their leader was NOT of the caliber I hoped for and soon most of the people I like to play with from that guild had broken off. Then one night we were all talking on a TS server and decided "hey we have a sigil and we all enjoy playing with each other, lets start our own guild. Everyone will be an officer, have admin rights on TS and it will be based on friendship/good group play and not be open to any ole jack or diane."
Based on that concept - Nomads of Turmoil - was developed and we state "Nomads of Turmoil are NOT recruitting" and our slogan is "NOT now, NOT forever"!!
