How are u supposed to solo these large groups of lvl 20+??

ive seen a lot of people talking about soloing certain monsters to farm for gold/items, but how do you even do this around crystal desert and droknars forge? im lvl 20 and i can hardly even take on 2 lvl 20+ monsters.

Certain monk builds, expecially, can put up so much defense that they can't be really hurt while dishing it right back where it came from.

My ranger will not join that group. Sigh...

yea ive seen those monks before, but theyre not really that good for anything else :\

there is like NO WAY my ranger can do all of that stuff

if u think about it.. theres like no real advantage for rangers

Good rangers are phenomenal in support roles and can make one helluva difference in a fight. They're just not meant to farm 30 griffins at once, is all.

All I can say about ranger farming is:

Trapper UW smite runs.

Good lord that is so true, if I have to go to UW, I will pray there is a bunch of trappers.

As some people would says "Rangers Pwn" or however they say it.

If you are having problems soloing, maybe you should read around or ask some people for tips on how to solo.

I do it as W/Mo. Course, I'm using mainly Monk stuff.

as aB- already stated, try trapper runs in the UW. you can do those. you'll often find PUGs advertising for trapper groups at the ToA.

i wouldn't recommend solo.

O you can farm it just takes a while to solo with them and requires that you be pretty skilled. What you do as your a ranger/elemtal is bring your pet and let him gain aggro then drop meteror shower and the other high damage fire spells on the group of dudes. You can also solo a lot of the stuff by using traps and good pulling but that is even harder.

hm.. i never thought traps would do that much at all.. so i lay down a trap, then pull, and repeat till the monsters are dead? lol.

btw, can u like put the same trap more than once on the same area with out one replacing the other?

When I have QZ, EW and SQ all up, I can drop 12 to 15 traps down before they start to pop, all on the same spot. Every lay is independant of others.

Your UW trapper team can place dozens of traps on the same spot and when that level 29 comes to eat your leg...bingo! Watch em burn, bleed, limp and wipe their eyes while you sit back and watch in awe.

You can try this...
R/Me with the following skills
Fevered Dreams
Hunters Shot
Pin Down
Apply Poison
Throw Dirt
Phantom Pain
Troll Unguent
Whirling Defence or Serpents Quickness or some other nice stance...
The point of this is to pull a few of said creature, put fevered dreams on one of them, then use pin down, hunters shot, apply poison - hunters shot spam
once up close, use throw dirt and all of the nearby enemies should recieve this.
JUST a thought - don't know if it will work or not.

Now, far be it from me to spoil your fun, but could you perhaps put your signature in your signature? Rather than copy + pasting it into your posts? I understand you've done it to make people who've chosen not to display signatures see your link, but believe it or not we did it precisely because we didn't want stuff like that cluttering up my monitor.

Trappers can do the Trolls without too much trouble

Oath Shot
Serpent's Quickness
Barbed Trap
Flame Trap
Whirling Defense
Throw Dirt
Troll Unguent
~skill

Gather up a ton of Trolls, use Whirling + Throw Dirt to make 'em all useless, lay traps, Serpents -> Oath Shot to recharge, immediately into Whirling + Throw Dirt again, lay more melee traps, Unguent if needed, Quickness -> Oath Shot again, repeat.

Not quite as fast as some of the smiting farm builds, but the fastest way to get XP with a Ranger I know of. Too bad Trolls don't drop anything useful.
