Alright first let me explain what I would like to do. I would like to focus on primarily PvE. I would also like to solo as much as possible.
That said, I'm having trouble deciding whether I should be a variation of a Shock Sniper or a Trapper. Which one is a more viable solo PvE choice?
The way I see it, I might be able to solo small groups of moderate mobs as a trapper, and only one thing at a time as a Shock Sniper. Is that true, and if so, can a Shock Sniper do anything about more than one mob attacking him at a time?
I've tried searching on the specific questions I'm asking, and came up empty.
Basically, I'm trying to make a ranger build that will suit general PvE soloing and grouping. If you have other suggestions, please feel free to add them into my line of thought.

A shock sniper could do barrage, which fires of 5 arrows... so a shock sniper will be able to do more then attack only 1 target...
As for a trapper, i doubt you'll be able to be succesful with just traps, because they arent gonna kill the enemy with just 1 trap and they are a bit energy consuming (though high expertize could counter that somewhat).
But if you use 1 or 2 traps in combination with some other good skills, it could work for PvE.

Soloing is tough.
Soloing as a R/E is really tough, because you have no healing.
Trappers get good defense(whirling defense), leave their targets crippled, and have access to strong heals (Troll Unguent and Healing Spring).
If I was going to pick one to solo with, it'd be traps, but I've tried it, and it takes work.
Playing a trapper solo is slow going- you can't take on more than 3 enemies at once, or even with a 75% miss chance something will get through and interrupt you in the 2s cast time of a trap. You stand there trying to lay down traps, slowly whittling your enemies down. If you really want to solo, play a class built for it- Elmo or W/Mo, or a Death Necro.
Self-healing or massive firepower (or a combo) is pretty much a must for any solo build.

Yep... and as a mather of fact the game isnt really build on soloing...
In WoW you can solo because you have a wide arrange of skills and lots of healing stuff.... Guild Wars (as the name says) is build to form groups that support each other

Thanks guys, oh and scaphism, check out the Ranger sticky thead, and see what you think of my slight modification of your trapper build you posted there. My idea was to add a little bit of necro slowdown to the equation to buy some more time. I think I can get 25 seconds out of Shadow without sacrificing anything from the ranger skills. Tell me what you think.
