I should have specified the 105 build. Insanity in tiny packages.

I'd actually been considering something along those lines... not a true "105 monk" designed for farming, but a healing/protection prayers monk that used a combination of superior/major runes and the protection spells to make themselves harder to kill in PvE, and lowering their self-healing requirements. It wouldn't need to go as low as 105 per se, just get the total health low enough that the damage offset would be worthwhile. I'm going to mess around with it anyway... see if some good can come out of this whole "105 monk" thing.

Monks being put in line is ridiculous, like AeroLion said they are the most sought after yet most abused class in the game. People expect them to have infinite mana, infinite healing range and especially warriors don't realize that their adrenaline dissipating is simply not as important to success as the monk's energy refilling between fights.

It would be good if monks rejoined the ranks of PUGs and regular teams, but it's not their duty, and the exploitability of the 55/105 monk isn't the fault of the class, just of ArenaNet.

I finally built a monk for PvE farming purposes as well as skill unlocking just because my main farming character, an Earth-based Protection E/Mo, was not thought of as up to snuff for a FoW or UW run; eventhough the support of build X and the knowledge from the player would greatly add to the running time of the average PuG, not very many off-"standard" builds and classes are being looked at to round out a team build anymore for these runs.

Monks are the most abused on a regular basis as I have now witnessed. Let's blame this guy when it is really our own innate stupidity that is causing a wipe. Ooh, let's bring a level 13 with low armor through the Crystal Desert and let him stand around, taking all of the damage, while us level 20 Warriors will just rush ahead and aggro everything in sight!

Ugh. PuG monk'ing is a work of charity. Please be kind, learn the limits, and in time, more monks may come back.
