I might be able to use it... the +15 energy is great despite the -1 recharge. I don't know what it's worth. Is 4k too low?

kind of irrelevent, but...
did you know there is a collector necro item ( waaay back in ascalon ) with 10 recharge/10fast cast on all skills with -10 armor while attacking(i don't think this matters considering i hope you don't attack with this b'cuz it has like 5 dmg), i just saw it and was like hey that's not half bad.

You can get that exact truncheon as a collector item in crystal desert for like less than 1k.

That's because there isn't one. There are no collector's truncheons (or any one-handers for that matter) that increase energy like that. You'll just have to find another gold one. I know because mesmer canes with +energy are a pain to find...

I think having a primary weapon with +10% cast speed or skill recharge would still be beneficial, since its effects semi-stack with other cast/skill speed upgrades. I notice this a lot when chain-nuking Dark Pacts/Vampiric Gaze/Shadow Strike. Also, the elite Offering of Blood seems to make higher recharge more beneficial over higher initial energy capacity. I don't run out of energy any more during sustained combat (though hit points can still run dry)
I guess I'll be pooling my resources to until I run accross the turcheon in question...
