The only thing I want from A.net [Long & Boring Rant about Favour]

It's not UAS, it's not farming, it's not Lornars pass closed, it's not more bots/scammers banned. It's a reason. A reason why I shouldn't switch my account to the American server.

A little background first. I spent the last few days working on getting a monk with the right skills, Droknar armour etc ready to solo UW because I'm bored of doing Droknar runs and because if there's any hope of me getting FoW armour I'm going to need to find ectoplasm 'cos it's costs far too much to buy enough. So far so good, by yesterday I had all the skills and equipment I needed and was all set to go. Only Europe didn't win the favour last night, they hadn't won it the night before either. So i figure the chances were good that tonight we'd get it. Earlier on this evening some good European guilds came on and started winning. I didn't notice who the earlier winners were since I was too busy paying attention to the part about europe getting the favour in X more wins. It got to "Esoteric warriors have won the HoH. Europe needs 1 more win to get the favour".

So I shut down all external programs switch off the TV etc. get ready to go into UW. I reboot the PC and relog into Guild Wars since I don't want any hardware or software problems while I'm in there. Evidently nobody had won yet since everyone was still just milling around. All the time i'd been getting ready I'd had an almost prescient feeling that a worst cases scenario was going to kick in and just as the anouncement that should have said "Europe has won favour of the gods" the message "(American PUGs) team has won the HoH and keeps the favour for America" appears.

It's not so much that Europe has failed to get the favour tonight more that we don't get it most nights and I haven't been able to get in UW/FoW for over a week. I'm sure Europe has won it in that time but not while I was on and often when we finally get the favour we don't get it until 1 or 2 in the morning. In itself this is not too much of a problem it's A.nets silence on the issue of favour and Europe's complete inability to get it that's the problem.

A.net have stated their position on farming, UAS etc even if it's not the answers people wanted and as clearly as they wanted they have at least recognised there is/was a problem with certain things. So far to my knowledge A.net has said nothing on the current system punishing people for playing on the European server (relative to playing on other servers).

We had a vauge comment from Gaile Gray that people who left the European server for the American one would regret it but no details. That isn't really an acknowledgement that the current system is unfair though. I realise that these things aren't fixed overnight and that a lot of thought and work has to go into even very simple changes so it's not that I want it fixed and now, I just want a reason not to switch over to the American server. My guild and friends lists are good reasons but not enough to make me want to stay if the current situation continues indefinately. I don't even mind if A.net say nothing is going to change because at least that way I know I'm not wasting a server change.

All I really want is a reason. I know it's unlikely anybody from A.net will ever find this in amongst the posts screaming for/against UAS, NR etc and even less likely they will respond but I thought I might as well try before I switch servers.

/Edit Since I posted this in Sanitarium i guess I should add what I would like to see done. Either as some people have suggested fictional factions or as I would prefer free access to whoever has the favour while the rest have to pay. That way everyone can get in anytime they are on but there are still advantages to having favour. It would also seem to be much easier to impliment since it only modifies the current system rather than changing it completely.

The underworld has lost alot of meaning since it became soloable. No doubt it will be changed with Anet's new update. On the topic of the favour i feel your pain. Eruope defintily needs a hand because at the rate they're going the region is just going to get worse and worse.

I made a suggestion earlier on a remedy to this but it disapered into the bowls of Economy and Anti-Spirt spamming posts.

I think things are gradually improving, we seem to be competing a lot more in the tombs and winning the favor more often, occasionally not just at 1 am etc. Maybe give it a bit longer
