Just curious....I've seen a lot of unided/unsalvaged runes on the trade channel here and there but I'd like to know how the sellers know what the particular runes are without IDing them....
In the case of minor/Major/Superior vigor or absorption, fair enough, but what about the rest?
Also, (Bear with me on this, cos I'm going into unlocking, trading etc.), Would a rune be unlocked when IDed or salvaged? or both? Could I, for instance, ID an unsalvaged rune, thn sell it to someone so they can get that rune unlocked when they salvage it, or can they only unlock that rune if they ID it? Is it better to salvage first THEN ID, or ID first then salvage?
Sorry if this is a bit confusing, but at the moment, until I know better, I'm just IDing the unsalvaged runes, and if I think they only have a value of 25g to the rune trader if they're slavaged, I'm just flogging the unsalvaged armour to the merchant.

The rune is unlocked when identifying.
The runes for each profession look different.. But you cannot tell exactly what rune it is until it is identified.

You can only tell if it is minor, major, or superior (by the style), and if it is a elementalist, mesmer, monk, necro, ranger, warrior, or vigor rune (by the symbol on it). Any other information requires it to be identified.

So, seeing a trader in LA offer an unided warrior rune of minor strength should be inherently wrong....(Yes, I did see one)

technically, you could buy an ided rune or upgrade or w/e and put it in ur storage so ur pvp chars can use it. However, you don't unlock it for all your pvp chars so i guess there's really no point unless u really like that character.
