Amnoon Oasis - Salt Flats

Ok... well I've spent a while trying to figure this out so I'll just ask for some help. I took a 1000exp quest from a guy in Amnoon Oasis to go find a spirit in the salt flats. Only trouble is... I can't get to the salt flats. I cleared out as far as I could explore with only desert lizards running around and I keep coming up to dead ends of towering sand dunes or rocky cliffs. There is a portal device I came across, I clicked on a lever and nothing happened.

I was doing this with hench... let me guess... I need to group with 5 rl people and do this? Or is there something I'm missing all together?

Well let me clearify this: The ''Portal'' thingy was a teleporter.
You have to stand in the circle so the stones light up, press them in that order and walk in.

Oh awsome well take no heed to my ignorance... first time through. So stand in the circle, watch the stones light up in a certain order, then press them in that order and step back into the circle. Gotcha. Now where will it transport me? Probably right into the middle of 30+ lv20 spiders and devouer...
