I don't know what it is about the Grotto, but everytime I go there it is full of strange people doing some kind of group activity, ice skating, or discussing things I'm not sure I want to know about...

Same here. I'd expect people to hang out in Fisherman's Haven or some place that looks nice... not Grotto.
