Hello everyone, this is my first post. I am really looking forward to Guildwars after too many years of D2.

Anyway I was wondering if the Ele Earth Armor skill can be cast on a warrior by another partied character or if it can be applied only to the caster.

Your enlightenment is greatly appreciated.

Since armor rating actually means something in Guildwars, I would definately like it on a warrior. If I can get it from a partied elementalist then great, it would free up a second monki profession for some healing.

Thanks for replying.

Anyone else know the answer for sure??

Thanks again in advance.

Damn thats what i figured. ignore the last post. I WAS TOO SLOW.

Thanks again KHA

At the risk of encouraging people to actually believe that you should take what a skill description says at face value, Armor of Earth is described thusly:

"For 30 seconds, you gain
24-53 armor, but move 50%-21% slower than normal." (Emphasis added)

Note that it says "you". What that means is that it's a skill that is targeted on yourself and only on yourself. You can't cast it on anyone else. The same holds true for a lot of Elementalist enchantments such as Aura of Restoration, any Conjure, Elemental Attunement, Armor of Mist, and beyond. If you could target someone else in your party with it they would say "target ally gains". If you could target everyone *but* yourself they'd say "target other ally".

Also, I'll just make a point that Armor of Mist is far and away a much better option if you're looking for an Ele defensive buff. Water, as a whole, isn't all that attractive but for a splash, you could do worse. Look at it this way: Armor of Mist is an Armor of Earth that makes you faster instead of slower.

Yeah, and I was pointing it out in IRC last night newb.

Anyhow, he's talking about a Warrior here. Not a Monk. For a Monk I agree, until someone can figure out something ultra sexy with Water, Earth is still the better alternative thanks to those unbreakable wards. But for a Warrior you only have so much energy and you can't afford to run Wards without something like GLE backing them. Armor of Mist gives you a speed boost and an armor boost. And Water gives you a Conjure, which Earth doesn't (Which isn't the best thanks to the fact that you'll miss out on a Zealous upgrade). I like a Warrior running with Water right now a lot more than with Earth.

I'd guess it's the fact that it cost 25 energy to cast until recently, and you'd just gotten in the habit of skipping over that skill when reading descriptions.
