105 build?
Winterclaw
Okay, I feel a little silly about having to ask this, but what in the world is the 105 monk build and how new is it? I've seen it mentioned once or twice recently but I'm not sure what it is about.
Autumn_Leaf
its a monk build that is able to solo the underworld.
there are quite a few posts about this thread in campfire i suggest u looking there for the build info.

You outfit a monk with 5 superior runes (none of which can be vigor) until your health drops to 105. Then you cast Protective Bond so that you can only take 5% of that 105 damage at a time. Which averages off to 5. Then you use Balthazar's Spirit and Essence Bond to counter the energy loss that comes with Protective Bond, and you're nearly invincible to anything that doesn't have enchantment removal. Your protection prayers have to be 16, or higher if you can find an appropriate weapon that gives the chance for +1 to protection while casting.

Thanks for the respsonses guys. If you ask me, that build could be a little weak VS the right conditions and hexes. If someone or a beastie is willing to do a kamikaze attack, one rend enchanments would wreck havock on that build.
So I take it with enchantment removal is in the underworld.
If you've got enough health degeneration on him (2-3 different types so they stack) that'd also be big trouble.

Heh, yeah, it's not a good build for the entire underworld, smite runs are good, obsidian behemoths will NR it

It's not for PvP. It's for farming the underworld. In PvP, someone would just cast Nature's Renewal and render it useless.

In my terms, unless you're desperate for items, this build is a worthless hunk of junk. It's great for farming, but I could think of far better builds to be sitting in my character slots.
Not saying it isn't cool that people manipulate the game to their bidding, it's just a stupid build and for people who need a character to give their primary character crap. =OP

As you'll soon discover - even a primary character can have alternate builds depending on the duties at hand. My own monk is a farmer sometimes and a protector or healer at others. So it isn't a wasted character slot. In order to make my character more versatile I carry around several duplicate armor pieces with different runes on them - so I can change my build by changing runes as well as reallocating attributes through refunds.
A successful build isn't an exploit. So don't be so angry at UW solo farmers - especially since you admit you haven't even been to the UW yet.

I played through the game with my monk 1st and only upon reaching the ring of fire did i learn about the UW build, i got myself a second set of armor, the sup runes (way back when prot, divine and smite were 200-300g each) and went to work, its great Yes money is kinda pointless, once u have a certain amount anyway, but still, I love my monk, b4 soloing UW and after
