hiho

sometimes it is quite difficult to manage "aggro" (both in pve and pvp).
in pve the mobs will follow some obscure target routine, with alesia being on top of the list all the time...
there seem to be some speels that casue you to aggro more than others. ->wards are one of them IMO... my earth mages get constantly aggro'ed by mobs if i put them on the ground(they even leave alesia alone!); but thats a good thing for an earth mage.
it would be nice to be able to do a bit more aggro managment with warriors though..

same applies for pvp.
warriors are often sinply ignored, and all storm for the monk if there is one (a stupid strategy IMO... but thats another topic).

so my suggestion:

>>>>>>>>>

"Taunt & diversion"
You insult and irritate the enemy so much, he has difficulties to focus on the the target you are protecting that way.
If he turns on you he will be somewhat in rage though...

Atribute: Tactics
Stance
Adrenaline Cost: 3
Duration: 1 minute
Effect: All weapon based attacks on targeted ally player do (15...25)% less damage. All weapon based attacks on you do 20% more damage.

>>>>>>>>>

there should be some visible indication of the protected, and the protecting players. or it could even be group based...

the long and set duration forces you to live with the drawbacks, once casted.

You're basically proposing an 'aggro' drawing skill, right? I don't like it... People need to be smarter on-line, not rely on a Warrior to be able to MAKE everyone around him attack him. I discussed this with my friends and they laughed, especially the one that thinks there should be a skill testing question whenever you log in.

I actually think this would be a good thing - but I think it should be a universal skill, not a warrior-only one.

Heck - people in my paerties seem to do this to me all the time - I think we should share it with the ones that can actually kill them lol.

How can you act smarter, if the enemy ignores you?
In pvp you cant do very much to "draw" aggro. If the enemy decided to ignore you, he will do so.
The protection however makes him choose if he wants to attack the protected target at reduced effieciency, or attack you with increased efficiency.

In PvE its the same.
There is little you can do about the critters running for Alesia/the monk first as warrior...

Little you can do, eh? It's called tactics. Have you ever done a Smite run? You'd know how to make them all attack the tanks. My God, why is it that every time I look at these forums I want to shoot someone in the face multiple times?

I agree, although hopefully in a more pleasant way. Keeping aggro on the right people requires the whole team's effort's usually and not just a warrior mashing some taunt button. While I did enjoy having that in CoH and Diablo, I appreciate playing a warrior more now in pve. While it is harder to keep aggro where you want it, it's still doable and I prefer this more skillful way of play now. As opposed to skills.

I'd also prefer not to eat up my toolbar in pve devoted to taunting skills that would allow the rest of my team to continue to be unskilled.
