The best looking ranger armor in my opinion is the one I wore pre-searing.

Anywho, I'm gonna look into what Synxernal said and see if the Pre-Searing Collector armor is like the Desert Collector's. It'd be much better to have a more up-to-level armor.
I wouldn't mind having a set like that myself.

Thank you for your posts, I figured it out:
The collector leather is NOT the same as the npc leather, although it has the same name (i used to skip the collectors because i reckoned it was the same thing as in town..) and the collector leathers look the same in all the districts (pre- and post-searing) so I'm now collecting it in the jungle (it's 61 armor there, while the npc armor is just 55). Anyway I'm collecting it because it looks so cool! (Not for functionality, druid is probably better given the extra energy it gives)

I used all druids except for the collector vest when I got to the jungle,I would advise doing the same thing,because you actually get a small energy bonus from the collector vest just not as much as a druids vest
