What is UAS?

I've seen this term used a lot on this forum, but a search doesn't even give me any results to find out what it is. Not even Google helped (whoamg?!). All I know it's apparently desired by many and that it used to be in the beta.

It was available during the beta events as an option to check for testing purposes, and removed from the retail version.

If memory serves, it was only available for one or two beta events out of maybe 7 events. It certainly added alot of interest to the PvP, but it also gave a sense of entitlement to the community.

I personally would like to see UAS, but it would have to be earned. Not through points, but by completing an action. Say, some very hard to defeat mission in PvE. It would mean getting a character through ascension, through the final mission. And then you can take on the mission to unlock UAS. I think the PvP world will realize that the PvE'ers do have skill, but simply like a more relaxed gaming style and the PvE'ers realize that the PvP'ers have earned the right to UAS.

This would not include upgrades for weapons. If it can't be gotten from the collectors, then it shouldn't be unlocked.
