Pet Trader
Greentongue
With all the new Traders that have been added to the game, shouldn't there be a Pet Trader too?
It would be nice to switch pets without having to start them at level 5 every time. Either by switching your pet Type or by being able to purchase any pet that has been released to the existing Pet Handler.
Naturally have pet colors to pick from would also be a wonderful money sink.

Nope. Part of being a beastmaster is raising and training your pet.
The Mighty Toe
I agree with Damon, you should find, and raise your own pet
Elena
well there aint much point in releasing youre pet anyway since you gotta start from level 5 all over again -.-'
Damon Windwalker
But don't forget, Elena, that they level pretty quickly at first - they catch up quickly enough...
ducktape
I like the part of the idea where you can use him to switch between pets you already have. Maybe make him the Pet Keeper instead? He watches your other pets for you? It would be nice if you could train more than one animal without starting over every time you charm a new one. I would like to be able to train a wolf and a bear and a lizard, and so on, and be able to decide which one I want to bring with at any given time. I know there's not really much of a difference between the animal types, but at least collecting and training multiple animals would give us something more to do...
Damon Windwalker
Now THAT I could see, ducktape! Great thought!

Pets have a issue, if you capture a bear you end up with a lv 5 pet in a lv20+ area ... he dies too fast to gain XP.
So you have to go back to a early area (Kyrta) and raise his levels, that takes quite some time.
That is not raising, that is grind.

A 'holding pen' for captured pets is a nice idea.

I still think they should allow the option of eating your pet to gain health in the middle of a big battle.
Plague
I think it may be fun to be able to purchase a temporary pet from a trader, ignoring your class, which you can't use Beast Mastery skills with. Just a throw away tank.
gfdmorph
Instead of comparing this to traders, you should reference it as like the Storage units. They place that dude who is only located in Ascalon, outside of the town, in every city near a holding pen. You would then pay him something like 50 gold for each pet you want him to keep (one-time fee per pet), or something.
Also, speaking of pets, I wish there was a way to see it's experience. Add a little bar in the 'h' menu or something. Alright, there's my 2 cents.

A zoo where you can purchase animals...the trader sets the prices. Sounds good to me. I may yet get a spider.

Why can't you sell a pet. Say you have a level 20 pet and someone wants to pay you 1k for it or whatever? Or you want to trade your 18 level bear for someones 10 level spider.

Make Charm animal into a signet, like the SoC. It gets used up when you charm an animal, but stays on your skill bar with your animal's name. You can equip it to get that animal. Have extra Charm signets available through quests and purchase, so you can charm other pets. This way you could have a few options of pet to bring with you.

I want a pet Roc that can swoop in and fly off with a Charr.

first, we need a pet keeper or pet storage. Maybe there should be an upkeep for the storage and to keep the pets alive.
kill some monsters, they drop some meat. Take back the meat to the storage and feed the pets

it is a vry good idea, i love it. the problem is that some players w/out a ranger class in them might be jealous. But I believe that ranger should have a variety of pets, and their pets needs more upgrades.
