Comprehensive Bow Analysis?
Blue Steel
I am increasing my bow collection, but don't really play my ranger character very much, and am confused about which bows are the best and why. I understand the damage ranges and inherent damage mods perfectly, but would like to see a list of every bow in the game and its rate of fire and actual range. Does such a list exist? I have heard there is an abbreviated list in the startegy guide, but it leaves out several of the most popular bows (like storm, eternal, shadow, flat, and halfmoon). Is that right? Can someone just tell me what the 4 or so best bows are and why? Are storm bows really faster and longer ranged than other bows as well as just looking cool? Or are just cool looking? What about halfmoons? Why are those worth so much?

I think this might be the stats your looking for:
[Bow] [Refire Delay] [Range] [Trajectory]
Composite 2.7 seconds 80 Low Arc
Dead Bow 2.7 seconds 80 Low Arc
Flatbow 2.0 seconds 100 High Arc
Half Moon 1.8 seconds 70 Medium Arc
Horn Bow 2.7 seconds 80 Medium Arc
Longbow 2.4 seconds 100 Medium Arc
Recurve 2.7 seconds 80 Low Arc
Shortbow 1.8 seconds 70 Medium Arc
Other rules that apply on arrow speed:
Low Arc / Short Range - Slow
Low Arc / Medium Range - Fast
High Arc / Long Range - Slow
Now you have to sometimes consider the location of the target. If a target is below you and close to the wall Ive found that the flatbow gets a higher arc and hits the target when the target cant hit me. That being said you have to figure those determinations in as well.
