Dyes made a little easier?

Not a suggestion so much as a complaint, but would someone care to explain why there's no way to experiment with dyes and not lose them permanently? Why does a dye remover not retrieve the dye for you instead of eradicating it or thinning it out?

Now, as rare and expensive as dyes can be, I can understand the need to not make it possible to just get 4 of each dye or so and basically have nothing to worry about for the rest of time since you can mix and match and just get back your tests.

My suggestion, as it were, would be a "dye seperator" kit that has a limited amount of uses, possibly quite expensive, that seperates dyes out of armors back into vials or from one another into their original forms. For mixed dyes, you would lose uses based on the amount of dyes that had been used.

I think that's fair enough, considering how inexpensive orange or green or such can sometimes be, in comparison to black and silver. You don't want to screw with those too much, so a kit would be worth the price, while using a kit on some yellows would be a waste of money. Price the kit around 3.5k and give it 10 uses and you'd be set.

how can someting that *removes* somehting simply take it out?

hm..why not just ask for a indestructable dye kit, and charge 100k for the privalege, and make it so it can only dye stuff customised for the character that bought the box?

basicaly, the dye is used up. its not like you can squeeze the dye back into the bottle after you dye your hair now, is it?

it would me buch simpler to fix the prices of dyes to a more attainable price, like 500 gold for black, and 300 for silver, leaving the rest at 150 each, then everyone can afford them. i asure you, people would loose thier reluctance to sell and buy and would dye even the cheapest stuff all the time, making the money sink outa the game the way they wanted it to

It would be much simpler to make dyes more common, but you know they won't do that.

As for getting it back.... *magic* If it works, don't knock it. At least not in a fantasy game anyway.

I wish they had some way of being able to preview dyes and mixtures on your armor, similar to how the guild emblemer lets you preview your cape before actually paying for it.

its weird kinda.. if you think of it, black dye should be the most common, whilst something like purple which symbolizes royalty should be rarer! you would still get the black dye buyers for the 'dark' or 'evil' look

but im sure there would also be alot of people creating a dark-purple or maroon type red also

i wouldnt mind a blood red or dark green on a necro, without spending a total of 50k+ for just the dyes

I was just thinking about this the other day. But then again, how many of the 12 year olds who play this game would know that? =/

well, since history may teach about big stuff like kings and wars, but not why royal purple or royal blue are *called* that, i guess very few kids these days know that stuff...

i mean, it used to take thousands of tiny sea snails to make a tiny amount of th purple dye, back befor chemicals.
and the blue, im not sure of.

but that was why the royal shades were Royal..cause they cost so damn much to make lol. so only kings could realy pay the cost at first, then yhey baned anyone else from wearing the shades, even if they were rich enough to buy them..no wonder they kep their names

and if i could get it done, i would *STILL* ask nicely for fixed price dyes ....along with an extra White dye....

Of course, if it were possible to craft dyes and the various colors...

Hmm...

People... it's only asthetics. If you want to look good, dish out the gold; like Fissure Armor (but that's another story). Anything with a better effect in the game itself is reasonably priced (highest being Droknar's Armor). Don't complain about the stuff that makes you look special and gets people saying "Wow that guy must be rich", because it's made for the people who have played through and have nothing left to buy.

Can i have a tool that turns my wood planks back into a bow?

Sorry if that sounds awful but it's the same principle. There are a few dye charts floating around and i'm sure these are just as well suited to your needs.

Why does everyone in Guild Wars hate 12 year olds? Purely out of interest.

I don't think that there should be a dye separator, unless it acted like a salvage kit, where you only received the most expensive dye back.

Does anyone know of a product I can buy that will let me take the coloring out of my favorite t-shirt, so I can use it later on a different t-shirt?

Ummmm about the Royal Blue and Royal Purple comments...... the game isn't set on planet Earth and the rules of color were thrown to the four winds.

So we have Royal Black instead.
