Hey!
We all know that the trading system sucks, and I for one am fed up of being bombarded with WTS WTB spam. So suggest something to remedy the situation here. My idea..
A trading pouch or bag which would basically function as each players own individual market stall!
There are a lot of ways this could be implimented:
It could be quest specific, meaning that the right to trade would have to earned, and could even have to be earned for each type of trade.
There could be a trading emote in which the proposed trader sets up his stall, so that people may come and browse his wares; as long as there is a way for people to know what he is selling!(implemented how I do not know?)
Additionally to the above the trader could set the price of the items in his trade pouch, with various options such as minimum price, price per part (material), ONO, buyout price, for swapping etcetera.
Trade areas. Each type of trade could be specific to a certain area of a city in the same way the npcs are now.
Improvement to the trade chat window, so each trader can have his own "shop window" that prospective buyers could visit and commence asking questions, bidding wars etc.. all in private and not over the top of the whole cities chat.
Change to the trade interface so that an agreed price is reached prior to the current trade window and cannot change once trading the item begins; may help stop scamming? dunno...
My own personal ideas and maybe they do suck, at least it is constructive. I believe that something vaguely similar will result in lower prices, more availabilty, make things you want to buy or sell so much easier (because it is directed to the target audience and not the entire world), reduce trade spam and stop a lot of scams. All in all trade would be trade instead of screaming I'm selling blahblah in the face of someone who doesn't even want it and doesn't give a rats arse what you are selling.
Rant over...
Trade pouch/bag (imroving trade suggestion).
