New chapters... too easy?

So as we all know there is supposed to be a chapter released by the end of the year, (looking ahead), but what i want to know is are the areas and content in the upcoming chapters designed for lvl 1 charcters and scale up accordingly (like with this version) or will the new areas be suitable for your existing lvl 20 characters righ off the bat.

Personaly I would like to be able to jump in to the new chapters with my exisiting character and not have to worry about having too easy of a time in the first 75% of the missions. Maybe they have a detector of sorts like in NWN that adjusts the game accordingly to your partys lvl.

One of the main reasons for the low level cap is that so the new chapters can be scaled straight at the high level or ascended characters, hence the "The game only really beigns when you hit level 20" line that's been floating around.

Guild Wars, in contrast, is based around your skill as a player. Our maximum level is twenty and you hit that very quickly, after about 20-30 hours of play. ,We call that 'The Point of Ascension'. Almost all of the content in the game and in the future Chapters is only available to Ascended characters, which means we don't have to worry about providing different levels of content. All the good stuff will be available to everyone. It's not our intent to force people onto the levelling up treadmill, so the level cap in Guild Wars is almost meaningless.

Seconding the Hermit, new expansions will start off at Ascension (Level 20)

P.S.
Hermit, I love your signature. A Song of Ice and Fire are my favorite series of books!

You beat me to the punch Loviatar, I knew you were going to post that response and tried to copy the excerpt from your posts.

I would have given due credit of course

But like the paragraph Loviatar posted reads, most of the new chapter content will be geared towards the Ascended players, so you won't have to worry about having to breeze through "easy" portions of new chapters to get to the really challenging stuff.

Ugh, tell me about it. I pre-ordered the book on the 8th of Feb last year, and Amazon (Not that they're 100% accurate) said it would come out in June iirc.

Didn't think I'd find a fantasy series I enjoyed as much a Raymond E. Feist's Rift War/Midkemia books, but George R. R. Martin's series is fantastic. Plus the Night Watch Vow seems quite appropriate to Guild Wars what with the Char brreaching the Great Northern Wall.

Amazing, so did I!

Still waiting...for something good I hope. The problem with the series is that most of the people tend to die in mid sentence.

Actually, I'd say the Malazan Book of the Fallen series is better.

I guess there will be a bit of low-level content, if they add new professions there will be associated quests. There should also be new monsters and bosses with these professions. There will probably also be some backstory quests for the new chapter pre-Ascension.

But maybe these will be streamed rather than locked to the expansion, so they will act like a teaser for the expansion

There might also be new content geared specifically toward new races, when those are introduced. I wouldn't think that it'd make a lot of sense for dwarves to start out in Ascalon, for example. They'd probably get their own equivalent starting area.

Likewise tangential, and totally agreeing with you. I thoroughly enjoyed Juliet McKenna's "Tale of Einarinn" series as well (have read the first four, believe there's a fifth).

I will also say that Song of Ice and Fire is one of the best fantasy series ever written, and I've read a hell of a lot of fantasy. What a great sig. Lol, if I weren't already in a guild I'd quit and join NW just for the right to that sig
