What is Farming?

I have heard alot of people talking about farming, can someone tell me what it is?

Farming is going to an area and killing things for their drops. As for the monks that can solo farm the UW. they go in. Kill and all the items are for them. No party reserves and what not. So then that monk goes and sells all of it. and Repeats as needed. Usualy you farm where the drops are good and a high chance of gold and purples. hope that helps

Thanks that cleared things up :\ Who thought up of the word farming, it sounds alot like hunting, Hunting is where u go out and kill things for there fur, and what not (Valubules if u will), and farming is where you stay and get the stuff. :\ i just think its little wierd, but still, thanks for clearing it up.

It's called "farming" and not "hunting" because you're just doing the same thing over and over again. If you want more information, try searching for the numerous threads on the subject already.
