Q about purple weapons

ok i have a max damage purple dragon sword. and a mod that i forgot ,if i upgrade it with a sword pommel or hilt will one of the mods go away or will the hilt and pommel still have its upgrade effects? im wondering because i dont want to ruin my sword. ty ahead of time

A pommel will replace a pommel and a hilt will replace a hilt. If you have any other mods that are not a result of a hilt or pommel, they will stay.

On dragon swords you can replace the pommel but not the fiery hilt.
