Gates of Kryta, pop in, immediate hit with an invite. Me, E/N, developing hydromancer build, beginning to really like putrid explosion. So, I join as 5th of 6. No monk, grab Alesia and go.
Going well, no deaths (except Alesia, who went into tank mode...).
Then it happens... Windows decides to do a security update download. I grond to a complete non-functional halt. Minimize the frozen game, try to stop the download... no, Windows will have none of it. Never even got to tell people what was up. Very sad.
Download complete, finally. 'Bout 5 minutes I'd say... expand game, entering Gates of Kryta screen. The entire team is there, all waiting. Every one of 'em. Different guilds all, first time I've seen any of 'em.
We go, waltz through mission, say g'nite and hit the crib.
It was a good night.
Edit: Funny thing was competing for bodies with a primary necro raising minions. Had to pick and choose when to blow 'em up for best effect. Necros... they're a thinking mans build I see.
PuGs. Hope for the futute.

turn auto-update off....windows is the biggest pile of junk the computer age has ever been subjected to.
I've never really had immature groups. I tend to be group leader as I'm pretty specific about what I want in a group. When I'm on my monk I always welcome a blood necro or an interupt ranger and ofcourse I always want a mesmer which is hard to get when you join another group. But I find that if you set a mature tone with the group they tend to follow.

I too am seeing some maturity in the PUG's I have been a part of. Even last night, I was playing my Monk, and at the end, I hear things from the warrior like " I am sorry I died so much". A few weeks back, I would have heard comments about how bad the healing was in the mission.

Unfortunately - I'm still seeing the same old crap. Last night had a monk in Elona's reach (after her second death from trying to be like Alesha) say "F*** this group" and bailing...

I would say the PUGs are getting better. Seems as if the younguns buying GW with mommy's cash have gone to more shiny things. You will still see the occasional overzealous wamo here and there, but they will be lower in population.
I was running an ex-guildmate to ToA last night. Someone else in D'alessio wanted to go so I let him in for free. So I die in the 2nd zone, going to Bergen. The dude cusses at me and drops. Well we continue to Bergen, then ToA. No problem.
The funny thing is, I wen't back to D'alessio for something, I forget what. And that same dude that dropped was there 'LFG ToA'.

i think they are getting better, last night was my first night going uw/fow as a monk (heal/protect) and i clearly stated that i was inexperienced when i was lfg. i got multiple invites and all of them were helpful as to what to bring and what i was and wasnt expected to do!

Took a party of 4 warriors and 2 rangers. Without a monk. Ended up smashing everything from Druids overlook, to bloodstone fen, to the wilds with zero to no casualties. Cept when we hit the maguuma spiders. Everyone but two people died. Suprisingly everyone stuck around for a res. Not bad for a PUG.
Monks are so overrated. =/

I guess I've been really unlucky then, I'm still finding a group of henchies to be far more efficient than most PUGs. I did the 2nd 15 point attr quest with my warrior and ranger. Since I hadn't been through the quest before and happened to notice a group was forming (and it was my warrior who might even be allowed in a group) I joined. The very first encounter people were running around like maniacs, aggroing everying on the screen most everyone dies so someone portal'd back. There is a short discussion, someone says "I can solo these stay back" everyone agrees, but 2 people run across the bridge anyway, aggro everything on the screen, rinse/repeat 2 more times. (Even the conversations were the same ) Finally I gave up on the bridge and followed the guy that could solo all the way to the girl and we killed her, but had to leave at least one dead body back by the bridge.
The next night, same exact quest, but I did it with my ranger and 7 henchmen, walked right to the quest location slaughtering everything, noone died not even remotely difficult, I couldn't believe it was the same quest...
