Boycott! Fix Economy!
Yellow_lid
I think this might possibly solve the economy problems of guildwars. If EVERYONE only bought items at a reasonable price then the sellers of said items would only be able to sell them at those prices.
We, as the buying population, have the power to controll selling prices.
The purpose of this thread is to aquire enough people "Signed" that the general population of GW would understand that they are not alone in their "I'm not going to buy at that insane price" stand.
TAKE A STAND AGAINST THE OPRESSIVE FARMERS! ! !
I understand that certain items will ALWAYS cost alot of $ (sigils, chaos axe, storm bow, ect...) but paying upwards of 10K for something like "Black Dye" Is simply unacceptable.
I also understand that people may want these items (which are only sold at high prices).
I propose that noone buy dyes over these arbitrary prices:
Black 5K
Silver 600g
Blue + Red 300g
Purple + Green 200g
Yellow + Orange 100g
I propose that noone buy Runes over these arbitrary prices:
500g for minor
2K for major
10K for superior
Absorbtion 30K
Vigor 30K
For those of you interested in my interpretation of the problem:

I am not certain of what the decent going price for materials was before the economy collapse. could someone please post it so I can add it to the list?
I will under no circumstances buy the aforementioned items at any prices above those mentioned

 I just stopped playing the game.
It Wasnt that hard either I just stopped one day because I felt it to be worthless to go on. I have no regrets, I still feel like i got more then my $50 worth. I just visit these forums out of pure borem, i have some loooooongg classes. I suggest just stop playing the game untill its fixed, although I imagine the summer update will fix allot of things.

You might as well stand chest high in the surf at your favorite beach, hold your arms out as far as you can stretch them, and try to prevent the waves from crashing against the beach. That's basically the same amount of "power" you, and any group representing likely less than 1% of the Guild Wars economy, will be able to exercise in what is a fairly open marketplace.

In an effort during this crisis, I've been giving away many minor and major runes to the needy. The only runes I don't give are major vigors and superiors. Btw, don't msg in game asking for free runes. I only give them away to people I see and meet around towns.
LifeInfusion
I do that too, but to guildmates.

Anyone want to join me in boycotting Ferrari?
I truely believe their cars are over priced and I can't afford one

BTW, I already don't buy anything and when I tried to give away stuffs (when I saw people said "want to bye some materials") people give me gold back, which I accepted with a bow and a thank you. So, am already boycotting. Farmers will lose billion of dollars due to my action...

no, I am not jealous.
let's look at Ferrari F430, V8 engine outputing 490 [email protected] priced at $150k US dollars.
toyota echo has a 4 cyl engine giving, what, 100 or so hp? It's only about $10k.
Ferrari F430 should sold for about $40k at the most. $150k price tag upsets me. I mean, if I can't afford a Ferrari, today, what's the point of life. May as well kill myself because it's not worth playing anymore.
US government should fix this problem. Bush is already making gas price sky high, now he's ignoring Ferrari's price issue. He should set a fed law that no Ferraris can be sold for over $40k.

Yellow Lid: While I think that your idea is...um...cute, I don't think it will do much. There are about 100 threads about the economy floating around. I'm closing this one and, if I find one in which it fits better, I'll merge them.
