Has anyone tried GW on the HP dv1340 laptop?

I know its bigger cousin, the zd8000 series (with ATI x600 video card) will definitely work, but it's more bulk than I care to carry.

All replies appreciated.

I think Lord_Shar was looking for something not as pricey as an Alienware. I don't see what video card the HP is running in it, but you at least want to go with an X600, X700, or nvidia 6600go to get the most eye candy. You should check out www.discountlaptops.com as they have many laptops with the above mentioned cards in many different configurations. Also, you want to get at least a Pentium M Sonoma 1.7GHz and 512MB ram at a minimum. Just to let you know the laptops at the above mentioned site are not from the name brand comanies such as HP, Acer, or Fujitsu. The Alienware looks OK, but the Sentia's video is hampered by the Intel Extreme Graphics2 chip =/ The Area-51 looks roughly the same size as the HP dv8000, and I'm seeking something physically smaller.

My desktop at home is a P4-2.5ghz with a 6800Ultra, running GW at max settings, so unfortunately I'm a bit spoiled

Like I said check out the forums and get some feel for the different laptops and then chck out discount laptops. After months of checking reviews and support forums I have decided to go with the Sager 3880V with some upgraded features from either PCTorque.com or discountlaptops.com

Thanks for the advice. I only hope the post-purchase support is as good as the hardware specs =)

From what I have been reading Sager seems to have some of the better support, but as with all "name brand" systems support is never as good as you want. Hope the info helps you out.
