Last night i bought Star Wars Battlefront and tried to install it on my computer. Whenever i put the disc into my drive, nothing happens. So I looked at "My Computer", and the DVD ROM drive, and CD-RW drive appear to be "missing", as seen here:

So, i tried restarting my computer, as i have had similar troubles in the past. I kept trying, and nothing was happening. Next, i tried running the disc by going to "run", in the start menu. an error message then popped up:

What the hell? They dont exist!

I tried searches on the net and came up with nothing. I tried running antivirus and adware stuff, nothing. I even went to Windows.com to update my comp.

Please, any advice that isnt flaming is needed because i really wanna play this game, and prevent this in the future.

Edit: I had trouble postin the second picture, so i just used a link.

um I don't know if the mods will do anything since this is about StarWars Battelfront..

Mods, I do apolgize if I broke any rules here, let me know if it's not ok to respond to this type and I will not in the future.

I would go to compaq web site (I noticed you had a Presario hd name

Download the most current mother board drivers. That may cause a re-detection of the ide drivers.

Also check to see if there optical drives are listed in the device manger.

If both drives are on the same ribbon cable (if you can without voiding warrenty) open up your case and make sure the cables to the cdr/dvd are in secure. Sometimes they could be lose.
