the perfect group

ok so ive been thinking about making a new character
so i know in groups its warrior, monk, elementalist, but what usually fills up the other 3 spaces?

There isn’t really a "perfect" group, it depends on the situation, although your right that warriors, eles and monks are the most wanted. The rest are usually only taken after the rest of the positions are filled, blood necros can be popular because of the "wells of xxx" skills, other than that, mesmers are sometimes wanted, but usually only by the more experienced players, and usually only one ranger is wanted if any. But that’s all from my experience. Personally I think that mesmers, rangers and necros are some of the collest proffesions in the game.

I think that every character is useful and it depends on your preference and team. I would suggest that you should talk to your guildmates what character they need for further PvP play (if they are going to PvP) so you could unlock its skills.

Through sheer blind luck we got a team full of rangers last night for a Thunderhead keep PUG. Needless to say, we won by massive trapping.

As clear as it should be, I'll say it again. There is no such things as the "perfect" group if you're talking professions. The "perfect" group is whatever gets the job done and preferably most effectively. There are numerous threads about specific group builds, and numerous threads about specific grouping experiences.
