Sorry if this is wrong forum for this, I'm kinda new here. I searched too but didnt find what i was looking for.

I have a PvE character. He is an E/Me. I started playing the PvP in the Tombs so I could get to HoH, but my groups always suck and we lose everytime. I just started it about 4 days ago. I was just wondering about if anyone had any tips for a PvE person to get used to PvP. I've was using a Fire/Energy storage only build, but I constantly ran out of energy from the mesmers in the other groups. I recently tried changing to Energy storage/Illusion/Domination/Inspiration combination, but it didnt seem to put a dent in guys (when I got in a group. No one seems to like taking Mesmers in PvP) Is it me or my groups or both??? I'm just confused.

I just need some PvP tips. It's just so different from PvE. Thanks.

1) You can pretty much put away Fire Storm, Searing Heat and Meteor Shower, as human enemies will simply move out of their attack radius ASAP.

2) Get used to having enchantments stripped away regularly by Nature's Renewal spirits.

3) If you're joining semi-random public groups for Tombs, don't expect a lot of success.

Yeah, 1 and 2 I figured out the second day. Thats why I tried changing to another build.

Number 3... I was afraid of.

Yeah use any attack that can't be dodged. If your an Element of earth, use movement hampering attacks and such. Now if your against people who like to huddle in groups... Rodgort's Invocation is a good fire attack for groups, Pheonix will hurt those melee attacking you as well as distant opponants who are clustered together.

But, it depends.. Fire ele is really good in some builds. It makes much dmg, and if its not a very orginzed team with TS and a leader that can shout reall loud its kinda usefull...

you are too spread out in attributes and your missing an ele one as well. Three is what you want total, which means energy storage and either two ele and no mes, or one and one.

*Edit* I meant your missing an element attribute. Obviously there's energy storage.

this is why i made a monk after my ele. even though i have tons of earth i am mainly fire. 13 in earth, 16 in fire. My ele is now for PvE only, I literally am a nuker in PvE, I let lose and vaporize all hordes who bother my team .

Monk is fun too as u are begged for! but has the notorious downside of the monk (people split two ways and call you a noob if u cant heal all in less than a second.) People have some wierd idea that monks have unlitimed energy and can teleport to various locations to heal instantly. I wanna see a video tutorial of the monk to explain the mystries behind this tormented soul.

Well today I changed to air elementalist with energy storage. Its been working great. I got some air spiker groups with TS and did pretty well most the time. Never made to HoH but came close. I went from 1 fame in 4 days to about 12 or more just today.

Those Ranger spirit spammer groups are really tough against eles.
