GW client is only 20mb !?!

I posted this is the Q&A section as well but just to cover all my ground:

Is the game really this tiny? I just bought the pre-order pack today and I downloaded the client off the guildwars website but it only installed a whopping 20mb or so?? Will it not download the full game until you are officially able to login and get started playing? Thanks in advance.

the client is less than 100kb (70+)

from the cd its a bit short of 1 gig but its not small by any means

Before the game came out, when you downloaded the client it was under 100k. Then you gradually downloaded stuff during the BWEs as you entered new places until a max of maybe 2 gigs. However, the real game's install is less than that.

the client is very small. most of the info is "streamed" to you during play.

it downloads as needed to prevent there servers from being too busy

Just to clear something up, you need to install the game from the cd from now on, from the cd it's 2 gb big.
