Useless Tidbits

TIME to FINISH PRE-SEARING: 28 minutes (acquired all primary and secondary skills)
XP GAINED: 1338 (if I worked it a bit more I could have lowered this a little bit; always been curious to see what happens if Rurik dies in the mission after Academy PVP (you get 0 XP if he's the one killing things))
The XP gained is only because there's been some discussion about the lowest possible level you can get to post with.
My goal is simple. Level 1 @ Droknar's with 0 deaths. Level 2 @ Amnoon Oasis with 0 deaths. I'll also be running myself due to access to a friend's account and character.
No flames please.

Wow, and you're only the 1435435435354th person to do it!

Well, I've never actually heard of someone getting to both droknar's at level 1 with NO deaths, and level 2 at amnoon with no deaths isn't exactly the easiest thing in the world, considering that runners usually need you to die. Also, the opening area if Dreadnaught's Drift is extremely difficult for a level 20 to stay alive in, let alone a level 1 in pre-searing armor Linkie
They hardly need to die if they are waiting at the entry point.

Then I remembered that the area I was getting decimated at with my other character was the respawn point. I don't remember if the portal is right next to it or if there's some breathing room. Ultimate_Gaara
good luck?... i don't exactly know how to respond..

The zone entrance is right next to the respawn spot and even crammed into the corner, I'm still spotted by the enemy. No chance of making it to Droknar's @ level 1 with 0 deaths. Racthoh

Well... unless he takes five others with him. They aggro the two patrol groups that come by on both sides before they're close enough to him in that little corner. They would have to be good enough though to kill those groups with 2 on one and 3 on the other so there would be no chance of the enemies coming anywhere close to the level 1.
Now if you can find 5 others able to take on this task... well, good luck I guess. Always good to have goals. Edit: Oh wait, nevermind. You'll gain way too much experience and become level 2 in no time. You're out of luck pal. Tourist
Not to mention, once patrols aggro they tend to home in on whoever's the biggest gimp in your party, which would be your level 1 pre-searing armored dumb self. Yer boned.
Asrial
They didn't target me until they grazed my bubble on their patrol. They didn't come after me during the aggro.
I'll just have to settle for Amnoon @ level 2 with 0 deaths, which is fine by me. blane
Is it possible to leave pre-searing with level 1? I heard some people saying there is minimum level requirement of level 3(not so sure about this) to do the searing quest.
Asrial
I think WAYYYY back when the game first came out, there was a level 3 requirement.
BUT! You didn't have to have a 2nd profession to go to the academy and into post-searing. Now you HAVE to have a 2nd profession but apparently no more level 3 requirement. ..and here's where my run stands.. Amnoon Oasis @ level 1 with 0 deaths. Humorously enough, I pulled henchies down from The Temple of the Ages so I did the Sanctum Cay mission with my runner and 6 henchies ![]() Here's the screenshot: http://home.sprynet.com/~asrial/temp/GW.jpg Slade xTekno
That makes me lol. I would have thought the hardest part would be surviving the PvP in Pre-Searing, but it seems you did it.

Getting to Droknar with 0 deaths is possible too. You can position yourself near the small wall at the beginning right in the corner. If you do it right the first patrol will just walk past you.

Thanks for giving me the inspiration to try again http://home.sprynet.com/~asrial/temp/GW2.jpg Also.. except for Droknar's Forge where I went with a runner from Beacon's Perch, I ran myself using a mixture of henchmen and a friend's warrior. I used the multiple user account method of having two Guild Wars open at the same time. The most frustrating part was the trip from Yak's Bend to Ice Tooth Cave (the section Ice Tooth Cave is in was easy, but the areas prior.. the damned ice golems kept spiking me and slowing me down and then nothing would leave me alone, heh). I'm afraid I'm going to have to call Shenanigans on you now. It seems just a little TOO coincidental that you ended up with the same experience both times. It seems far more likely that you Photoshop'd the same display into two screenshots.
You had me with the first one, but now I'm not buying it. Lord Bentam

as long as he didn't do any missions, or take part in a battle with the monk, the xp wouldn't change.

Sorry I have to flame... because what you're trying to do has absolutely no gain. What are you gonna do, post a picture of it on guildwarsguru? Get personal joy out of something so pointless? Seems entirely useless to me =/

Outside of pre-searing, Sanctum Cay to Amnoon Oasis is the only place I'd be forced into any kind of XP. Let's see.. the route.. In pre-searing, I attacked 3 skale and completed the 'save Gwen' quest. I ran around collecting other primary skills but not completing the quests. I completed the quest for taking on a secondary class and then ran around getting the other skills for it, but not completing the quests. Here's an important part to preserve 0 deaths... I logged out (sorry team!) during the academy PVP fight and then logged back in. This put me after the PVP and into the mission. I then would aggro the grawls and back away, letting them piss off Rurik who killed them and kept my XP gain low. He also killed the end group (with the boss) so I gained no XP there either. Quite by luck, I ended up just over 1000 XP left to level 2. I didn't really think much of this, since I was intending to go through the Divinity Coast mission and then the Sanctum Cay mission which is 2k and thus level 2 (but not level 3, which is fine by me). After getting myself squared away, I logged into a second user profile on XP and brought in the warrior I have access to from a friend at work. Then, I started running her to various places. I used a method I like to call "loading time" to prevent her from being logged in until the very end, to prevent a mob roaming too close and killing her (this HAS happened a few times and it aggravated me to no end.. like the damn hydra that roamed to the outside of Grendich Courthouse). Ascalon, Piken, Grendich, Yak's. Traveled through the annoying upper path area to Ice Tooth Cave then down to Beacon's Perch. My prior run with her had her @ Amnoon @ level 2 and I was content with the armor there, but now I had a chance to get her to Droknar's @ level 1 so I played around with it a little bit but had no luck (the post above about the Drift entrance being near impossible without dying). So, I continued on to the Gates of Kryta, Lion's Arch, D'Alessio Seaboard, Beetletun, Divinity Coast. I was going to run Divinity Coast but I wanted to get Bergen Hot Springs first.. and I also decided.. it would be nice to get to Amnoon @ level 1 this time around. I HAD tried to get her to the Temple of the Ages a while back but got decimated on the run (this warrior has only sprint, so very hard to run through that damn area). I get her to Bergen, then attempt another run to the Temple of the Ages and I make it! So I load up a party of 8 and take her down to Fisherman's Haven (incidently, I get to keep the party of 8) and then over to Sanctum Cay. I run the mission on Sanctum Cay and get 1k experience. I post the first screenshot. Having read the reply about the Drift, I decided to give it a few more tries and I discover that it CAN be done (on the first successful attempt, an idiot aggro'ed creatures back to me at the beginning of Snake Dance). I eventually make it to Camp Rankor and then to Droknar's Forge. After that, I ran the Divinity Coast mission (which leveled me to 2) and took her to a couple more places, ending at Riverside Province. Long post. Sorry ![]() ..and to the person asking what the point of this is.. Why do I need ANY reason to challenge myself? What's the point of getting all your characters to level 99, a gold chocobo, all the summons, and beat Ruby and Emerald in Final Fantasy 7 when you can beat the game at level 50 with none of those? ..because it's a personal challenge you set for yourself. My personal challenge started as a desire to see how far I could take my character (which ended up being the monk as I looooove her) with 0 deaths. It then blossomed into a desire to get the best armor possible to assist with the PvE grind and help make the job of 0 deaths a little easier. It then turned into a desire to see if I could make it to Amnoon @ level 2 and that then left the challenge of.. well, what about level 1? For my goal of best armor possible at the lowest level with the least amount of deaths, I can't do any better than level 1 with 0 deaths. It took a god awful long time and alot of frustrations to pull it off so don't rain on my parade. It's just a personal goal that I'm sharing with people who may think it's cool. scarbringer
Any tips for running the Sanctum Cay mission?
Mavrik
ok... question about 0 deaths... Now I love noobs who leave pre-searing at low levels. I kick their butts in the PvP... would those deaths count towards your death? And how do you get secondary class without fighting? I've seen lv1 in droknar... but I doubt they didn't die getting there. Snake's Dance has so many enemies at the entrance. good luck with them ignoring you.
scarbringer
if the runner drags the monsters at the portal there is a chance, although small, that the the non runner will survive
