Okay, What would you guys think if Anet did the following:
All dyes cost 1K (sell to the trader for 500g) no fluctuation in prices - and people could still try to sell for 750g to people. And seriously, black dye isn't a common drop to the point where people can farm specifically for it.
Rare materials can stay the same (not that big of a deal, electos can be bought for the same 11k price, and everything vital is in ready supply - dunno why people buy sapphires/rubies lol)
AND FINALLY, runes. Minors are 1K, Majors are 5K, and Superiors are 20K or something like that. It would still make it where runes negative health impact couldn't hurt lower level n00bs because they're pricey enough, and superiors wouldn't have the stupid price fluctuations. Superiors are kind of a 'special' item anyway.
Minors sell to trader for 500g, majors sell for 3K, and superiors sell for 15K. This creates a comparative advantage to try and sell to players other than the trader. But people that need money quickly can still sell via trader. HOWEVER; 2.5K would be enough to make a LOT of people spam, "SELLING X RUNE for 17.5K!!!" other useless runes would just be sold and done with. Runes would always be in stock and it wouldn't be a problem
Thought on this? I say if Anet didn't like this, eliminate the rune trader all together and let market prices control themselves (like most online games). It's just rediculous. 48K for a vigor rune because the trader buys for 43K. Freaking stupid. I remember when vigor was 35K 2-3 weeks ago until Anet screwed things up. SINGLE superior runes can't even be bought at this point.
Oh wells.

I like the in-demand supply and demand selling.
I think emplementing standard prices would make things alot more boring, esp for the players who play the game mostly for finding/buying and selling.
Minors for 1k? I find that kind of rediculous, I would think twice even about paying that much to unlock a minor.
Suggestions go in the Sanitarium
Anet didn't screw anything up, greedy players did. What's wrong with getting 43k for the second rarest rune in the game? I know I've yet to FIND one and I have no wish to buy one.
