Suggested Proffessions?

Hi I'm one of the many disgruntled former SWG players who've recently left because of SOE's mishandling of the game. I've seen the promo box for GW in stores for a while now and thought it looked interesting, but never paid it much attention since SWG was all I really played. Well, after I decided to give it up I was thinking about what game I should take up and decided to come to the GW website to read up on it and the next thing I knew my mind was made up.

Anyway, for anyone who'se beta tested or knows about this kind of thing already, what proffessions do you suggest? I'm thinking, based purely on the limited information about the professions on the GW website, that I want either Warrior as my main, and Monk as my secondary, or the reverse. Does anybody know if those two proffessions together will make an effective character, and if so, which would be more effective as the main and which as the secondary? Thanks in advance for any help,

JS

Check out The Campfire and read Warrior Basics, Monk Basics, and any threads about Mo/W or W/Mo. Doing a little search won't hurt you.

What server were you on, if I had to guess you were a BH in SWG on the radiant server.

There are no good classes. They are all reletively balanced with one another. There are also no easy or hard classes. Go with what you find the coolest looking/ most interesting/ whatever.

Be warned. People will tell you to start off with a Warrior/Monk. This isn't a bad build at all, mind you, but don't play it just because people think it's "easy" to play. Sure, you could go with Warrior/Monk and do what everyone else does and wing it and suck, or you could look in depth at the build like you will be doing with all other classes and own.

yeah what weezer said, there is no one profession that is uber like the CM/Rifle combo in SWG . Just pick the coolest, you get to make 4 toons anyways so no need to worry.

If their all reletively balanced, as you said, then why would someone who went w/ Warrior/Monk be 'winging it' and 'suck'? Anyway, I dont care what other people are doing, I thought warrior/monk sounded like a Jedi, so thats why I wanted to do it. Though Necromancer/Warrior also seems interesting... maybe more like a Sith lol j/k
