I am wondering:

In Pre-Searing, there is som idiotic NPC who wants you to take a bear pelt cloak to 'Little Thom'. Then, after crossing, there is some foppish moron chick in Piken Square who asks you to find 'Little Thom' out near Kings Reach. The bastard's Dead.

You go on to Yak's Bend and beyond, and the dead bastard remains in the NPC henchmen circle o braindeath.

Someone told me it was because he lost his badge gambling the day before you find the person with it.
I guess he wasn't the corpse and made it to yak's.

It's all supposedly in the quest text when you turn it in but nobody ever reads that.
