Server Status On GuildWars Homepage?

So, I am thinking maybe a server status banner somewhere easy to see may help in these situations where the servers are not even up, yet people believe they should be able to log in.

Well, I would like to think that Guild Wars should never need a server status page to show whether or not the servers are up or not. My take on the situation is that many new people are just freaking out at the moment as they try to start up their accounts and find that the servers aren't running, even though most people should know the servers won't be up until 12:01 AM PST. Said new player automatically assumes that there are issues with the game, runs to these forums, and starts up one of multiple threads talking about errors in the game.
In the hopes that Guild Wars bypasses all of the server downtime which WoW has experienced, I don't think they should have a server status page. People just need to realize that we still have about 3 hours until we can play the game as the servers actually come online...

Has server maintenance been discussed as yet?

Nothing wrong with having their server status on the main Guild Wars site. Although I would also like to assume this is unnecessary, people are apprehensive. It's typical for us to have concerns, after all, a lot of MMORPGs out there have crashed due to system overload on their first day. I'm hoping this will not be an issue, since things like BWE's and what they did at the end of them should have proved valuable information regarding how well the servers handle the stress, and they should be prepared for nearly anything that comes their way.
It's also not like typical MMORPGs where there is a "list" of servers to choose from.
Ultimately unnecessary really, but I don't care if there is one or not. The staff in charge of Guild Wars will do it if they deem it useful.

From what I have heard, there should be no scheduled server maintainance in Guild Wars like there was in other MMORPGs such as WoW. I read somewhere that the servers are hotswappable. Therefore, if something should happen to one of the servers, the load will simply be shifted to one of the other servers in the rack. There should be no downtime unless in the case of extreme emergencies. If everything works as intended, the servers should never have to go down (or they will go down very infrequently) and there is very little need for it. If it does go down, they could simply post a headline on the site.
I hope this helps

I am hoping my head doesn't explode before the servers go live. Right now there is steam coming out of my ears, and I just toasted my cat when she jumped into my lap.
