Umm, the warrior has a base amount of 20 energy. The monk has a base ammount of 30. Just say the base energy ammount for your class is like 150-200,000.

Second your class idea sucks, it basically vlends all the classes together, which would be bad and not very useful. so i cant say this idea would work very well.

You know, it's s--t like this that ruins forums. While this idea may not be the best, the kid tried to come up with something he thought others would like, which takes quite a bit of work. Not everyone plays the game non-stop and knows the ins and outs enough to know what is and isn't over/under powered. Magus(the first response) laid it out clearly with "An E/N can accomplish the same thing, so this profession is redundant." Every post after was nothing more than internet bullying. Honestly think about how your makin the guy feel. How'd you like it if you just spent 45 minutes typing up something you thought would be cool and add to a game you like, only to have it ripped apart and then be personally attacked. That kind of BS does nothing but stifle creative thinking, because once someone with any popularity(generally a post wh--e) posts something negative and derogatory, anyone who likes the idea or has a way to tweak it to make it better is afraid to post because generally, its not worth thier time or effort to fight of the crap flinging. Grow up people. You may be old enough to play the game, but some of you sure don't act like it.

I say this to you and to everyone else in this forum...Some ideas are just bad and some are very redundant. Criticism is a risk you take when you post on a forum like this, get over it.

Yeah, I think something like this could work, just maybe set up a little different.

I like the idea of a heretic class, which could be called any made up name like the ones the OP mentioned.

I think it should run a lot off adrenaline, since the warrior is really the only class that makes use of it right now. A staff would be their main weapon.

I think Shout-like skills could work, but instead call them something different.

How about this for attributes:

Fanaticism - Primary
Boldness
Charisma
Dark Arts
Heresy

Fanaticism - This would kind of be like the Divine stuff the monk has. It affects other Heretic skills, and maybe has a handful of skills under this attribute. This is how far the heretic is willing to go to follow it's beliefs.

Boldness - This would be a buffing sort of skill set. Half off mana, the other half off adrenaline. Maybe something like traditional Barbarians in D&D. This is where you could put some of the OP deflect/blocking stuff, as well as sacrificial type attacks.

Charisma - This would be a majorily shout-type skill set. Instead of shouts, have them called Orations, or Sermons, or something like that. Also, the OP benediction stuff could fall in here.

Dark Arts - This could be some Rasputin type skills. Gazes that can cause conditions, and stuff like that. I see Hypnotize as an elite here, not sure exaclty what it woudl do, maybe daze, etc....

Heresy - This would be the main attack skillset. Since this class would be using wands/staves, this would include buffs and special attacks. So special attack skills, that use the staff as their source. Think of some moves from Soul Caliber, with the woman with the staff. I can't think of names, but like sweeping out someone's feet, block, counter-attacks, etc...


I think the OP had a good thought, no need to needlessly bash him, offer up some suggestions instead.

Just had another thought that could work this into the story line a bit. The heretics are followers of the Titans. Since that whole thing came out, no doubt word has spread. Heretics are popping up trying to spread the word as to how they are our true masters, or something like that. That or followers of the Seer, whatever that thing was. Or even the Margonites. You know who the Margonites are right? If not, go back and read some of the stuff NPC's tell you.

But it is blind criticism and pointless negitivity that is causing the problem. The first reply was actual criticism, the rest were pointless flames, for the most part. Bad ideas are better than no ideas at all. If you don't like something, don't reply, or at least do so respectfully.

I agree, if your going to criticise somone, have the decency to read their post first. Do not just say something because everyone else is saying somethings. But then again, there will always be people like that. Just take criticism with a grain of salt and know that some people are jack@$$es.

Do a search of the other threads this person has created and I think you'll understand where alot of this is coming from... he creates threads about a subject, offers little or no logic on why something would work or should be implemented, then goes off on tangents that have absolutely nothing to do with the original topic...

I have been here for a while and I read nearly all new class topics. The Sanitarium is like a big brainstorm session, which needs no logic behind it's ideas. They are just ideas, and thier structure can be added later. Yes, alot of these ideas are redundant, and yes, people should be searching more. Instead of flaming, tell them that they aren't the first to post such an idea, and attach a link. If you can't be bothered to do that much work, then just ignore post. Posts with no replies dissapear pretty fast, these flame fests stick onthe front page.
