Tpot Ace

balanced stance is the key while enduring those first meteors. if you are on your back, you aren't fighting. Rangers have a much easier time since a drakescale ranger will have higher defense vs elemental attacks than you.
I'd suggest griffons/minotars over hydras for a warrior, but its not impossible. Once they go melee rather than meteor, its easy.
Skill Setup:
Hundred Blades | Galrath Slash | Balanced Stance | Bonetti's Defense | Healing Breeze | Mending | Live Vicariously | Balthazars Aura.
When doing griffons/minotars, i replace balanced with bezerkers as an opener, incase I don't have bonetti's ready.
Works well for me, but you can try whatever.

Look to a solo'ing build if you intend to pull/agro groups ( pleanty of fine sample constructions for W/Mo Solo's here on the boards ); bear in mind, as impressive as a solo build can be at expilating the field ( simply check out a few of the solo'ing videos posted here on the forums ), they are poor performers outside of their theater of operation. Grouped they fall, PvE or otherwise. Consider before you build... or maybe its build for consideration.
If you simply wanna build to PvE that can handle 3 or 4 foe in melee, then the suggestions made are right on the mark; lots of ways to do it though ; )

Tpot Ace
uhh doesnt seem to work

Try a search for something to the effect of ' farming video '...
Thou the video I just posted is a good W/Mo run to give you an idea of what can be done in a solo build. Bear in mind, I usually dont use dmg builds for solo'ing, but build to accommodate the foe basically killing themselves and keeping energy high.

W/Mo with a sword build for farming desert Hydra
Dolyak signet (key when dealing with the meteors)
Sever Artery
Gash
Galrath Slash
Final Thrust
Healing Breeze
Mending
Balthazar's Spirit (adrenaline and energy builder)
Healing Prayers -- 8
Smiting Prayers -- 3
Strength ------- 16
Swordsmanship -- 14
with high end runes you can solo like 8 to 10 hydra at a time
apply Balthazar's and Mending before engaging. you will have 0 energy gain, but upon fighting, the more you get hit, the more energy and adrenaline you will have. Very seldom do I die in the desert while soloing Hydra.

Someone else already said it - the Dolyak signet seems to be the real secret with hydras. They're actually pretty easy if you can avoid getting knocked do ... and the signet will prevent that. Otherwise, you shouldn't have trouble with 6 or so with most standard solo builds. I use a really simple one.
Glad armor and a vampiric axe. Then I run that dreaded mending (grin this is one time it makes sense) along with live vicariously. I agrro some hydras, hit them with cyclone, followed immediately by bonetti to rebuild energy. Dolyak becomes important with 3 or more. Truth? That's all it takes (other than the ability not to get bored). I have 15 in axe (axe helm plus superior), 10 in health and and 10 in strength (to allow the signet to stay active longer). My build takes 6 at a time easily. I can do 9 but if I make a mistake I die (not much of a problem since the DP goes away quickly as you solo hydras).
Some of the other builds may do better - it's just such an easy task that I've never really tried to change this one. I may try some of the other builds here to see if they'll let me move even faster.
Other thing that I do is kill all of the hydras in the first area, teleport at the end of the run to finish up. I don't stop until all my character's inventory slots are filled. I usually get one rare a run, sometimes three. But - as is true with all these farming runs - drops of rares will decrease after several runs.
I used to do hydras more often and generally get more per run with them than griffons. However, griffons are so fast that if you figured the total take based on 30 minutes of farming, they are more profitable (for me at least) than hydras. Hydras, however, are slightly less boring.

yea but mine came with a picture...j/k
just to note to anyone not familiar with Desperation Blow...it works really well with Dolyak as you don't knock yourself over.
