Ranger Pets

hi i was wondering if there is a way to charm bears because recently i have made a new ranger and everytime you try to cast charm animal they just use charm breaker which stops you from getting them as pets (these are black bears btw) just wondering if there is a way or if there are any other bears that can be charmed

You can try doing spells like imagined burden and stuff that will slow them down. If you don't want to be a R/Me, just get the mesmer skills to slow it down and don't become one, then do it on one near wizard's folly. I think that works.

Black Bears are not charmable in pre-searing ascalon. If you want a bear as a pet you have to wait till you get to shiverskpeaks - specifially Lorners Pass (iirc).

The bears in pre-searing used to be charmable if you had the right skills and/or had help.. but anet fixed it so they are no longer charmable no matter what you try.

Where exactly the bear in Lornar's pass? It's hard to look for him with all those high lvl monsters and I have lvl 10 hencies
