The program isn't locked up, is it? It did that to me the first time I went to install. Try manually killing it [Ctrl + Alt + Delete, kill the running app] and running it again.

Firewall? Router?
Guild Wars requires the following port(s) to be open: TCP: 6112

Try lowering the level of your security settings. I know when I ramped my security down a couple notches it blew through the install in about two minutes (after about four hours with the same problem as you).

Are you going to tell me whether you have a firewall or router that may need a port open? What kind of connection do you have to the Internet .. is this at home, work, school, dial up? DSL? Cable?

Firewall is off, except shaw secure..il try taking that off but i doubt it will work, No hub or Router, Cable connection at my home.
Darkmane
Well if the information I read is correct. You Shaw Secure is a firewall also? Running two firewalls at the same time can cause multiple issues. What other firewall are you using? You will likely have to turn both off and uninstall one and reboot then configure one correctly with GuildWars and reboot again to get it to work for you.

i dont run both firewalls, my other is inactive, a built in windows xp one. They're both inactive now, and i had to switch a few other things but its working, Thank you for your help.
