I just bought this game per a referral from a friend from a local retailer this evening and now when I install it, I see something saying the game won't be playable until the 28th?!?! What is the deal with this. Now I'm looking on the forums and evidently the people who pre-ordered this game are able to play but someone who just blew $50 can't?!? Someone please tell me this company isn't selling it in retail stores all over the US if you can't play the freaking game after you buy it.........
Any explanation on this would be appreciated,

your retailer technically isnt allowed to sell it until the resale date so i'd go have words to him

What's happening is retailers are selling the game early. As this game is online only, the servers aren't available for retail until the 28th.
For those who pre-ordered the game, IE: Paid for it in advance, the servers are opening a day early.

wow, I'm going into EB games tomorrow and walking out with a preorder copy whether they are willing to give it to me or not. I'm so freaking pissed about this. I can't believe the company is selling this game and not allowing people to play that is a SCAM. If I were a freeloader I'd consider sueing as they are selling a product you can't use.

good luck with sueing them when they have nothing to do with the fact that you bought the game before the release date. Please dont start coming on here and badmouthing the company when it wasnt their fault, but the retailers and your own.

oh my god this thread makes me laugh... you should really read the guildwars website.. the release is on the 28th.. and they are right its your fault for buying the game thinking you can play the game early..

after reading that, it makes me think about how stupid the public is, im glad this date (27th) is going to be the community i know and love, that ive played with past bwe's with... but im afraid that on the 28th, we're going to see all those ("Insert cuss word here") people... hopefully just not too many ^.^
Edit:: I do know however that some stores probably don't have the date it goes live on the shelves or in plain site... so i guess not all the people are to blame, but if you complain to the company, im sure you would see the starting date there... so that's pushing it.

Actually i've tried to put in my preorder and it gave me an error 
I already mailed support and also bought another access key from best buy.
Added a screenshot when i tried making an account with it, later on i received my retail and tried adding it but it didn't work.
