Skill Point Purchasing

Everyone that is Ascended knows it is hard to gain exp. for more skill points. I for one am 'stuck' on getting this sp i really need bad... So I'm making a suggestion to arenanet about the ability for ascended characters (with 200,000exp+) to be able to buy skill points!

Players who meet the above requirment can go to any skill trader and purchase a skill points for 50 platinum. Each time you buy a skill points, it raises in increments of 10 platinum until it reaches the 100 platinum point and then it stays there.

This system is fair since of the economy being out of whack as it is and it is costly so that not 'everyone' is going to know every skill for every skill trader in the game.

Yeah, 100 platinum for ONE skill point. I'd gain so many skill points trying to get that much money it's not even funny. This is probably the best joke ever or the stupidest idea ever... I just hope...

Well you do have to realize, ANet is trying to make it so you can't do the entire game with just one character...

You are better off trying to unlock what skills you can, then making another one with a totally different skill set. You can should be able to unlock a good number of skills with your first two characters.

Personally I'm glad with just 2 characters and unlocking the last 2 sets with each character, or at least the skills that are worth getting. Some of the skills are just worthless. I'd rather them just leave the game alone instead of implement this.

as long as i get the elites i'm good the random skill here or there i can grab with faction.

So you have an easier time earning 10 platinum than you do 20k experience?

Where are you farming good sir because I would like to know. Also, I don't find it very difficult to earn experience. The FoW, UW, and various farming spots yield impressive amounts of exp.

Why ascended players only and not just level 20s?There are some of us who haven't ascended yet and are working on it but get sent back to outpost even with a good group.I have 2 level 20 char. that haven't ascened yet if you ask me there should be an optional one mission if you choose to forfiet the ascention missions.It would be nice though if Faction was increased.

What about the flipside? How about being able to trade in unwanted/unneeded skillpoints for faction? Maybe put in a quest that players have to complete to get to the skillpoint trader or something.

That would be a good id but i think this thread is about nothing at al. If u just play more FoW and UW u get enough xp 2 get more skill points.

50-100k seems like far too much money to me. In getting my first 50k, I got around 3 skill points, if not more, when I need 20k xp each. Possibly reducing the costs by a factor of ten would make it more attainable.

This is a fairly good idea, as it allows me to get enough skill points for my builds on my PvE character without working too hard, or too little, and without spending hours killling stuff.

To those people who say we should just go to the FoW or UW, I would like to, but 2 things stop me ever getting there.
1) I'm a necro primary, and PvE still hasn't realised how useful we are.
2) I'm on the EU servers. When was the last time they had favour, anyone? I don't want to get all my skill points on one run to the UW at midnight one sunday a month, which is about how often the EU gets favour, and how long it lasts for. And our good players have moved to the American servers to get xp from the UW or FoW, or they only do GvG, so it's now less likely for us to get favour. I want to challenge the HoH to get favour, but I'm not much of a PvPer, and nor is anyone in my guild, so that's not possible either. Any other suggestions?

Purchasing Atrribute points would be a better option.

Ever need just another 2 atrribute points to enable the 5 left unused

Actually, I couldn't go yesterday because darned Europe had favor for a good hour or two. That was between 7:30 and 9:30 EST.

Actually I believe Anet already addressed some of your concerns. Ever here of scrolls that they added a bit ago? If you have plenty of money to waste, then buy a bunch of scrolls. They are fairly low cost at around 2-3 platinum each. I have a necro who has 300,000+ XP. I used a few of those the other day and leveled him up in one night. Just use the one that says something like, get 250% XP for as long as your kill a boss every 5 minutes or something like that ( forget the exact wording and %'s). Use that one on one of the missions in the Ring of Fire. There are bosses a plenty there and you can level up SOOOO easily. Or just use the standard ones that lasts for 10 minutes to double your XP. Then head to Snakes Dance where there are enemies a plenty! It's great! Just buy a bunch of those scrolls, spend about 5k in gold, and you can have your skill point. A lot cheaper than 100k

1 griffun run = 2400+ experience and yields what? 5 maybe 6 plat if you're lucky.

where are you farming that you are making 50 platinum and not getting skill points? I gain 3-4 skill points in a couple hours.

I think the other person suggested only Ascended players becuase only they can use the points to buy skills outside thier original two professions, where most skill points would get spent anyway.

Have you ever played warcraft 3 with tombs?
