some more suggestions on classes...

Me personally,
I would like to see some more options for people who chose not to use 2 classes. After ascension, i think a player should have an option of dropping their secondary character and move on to become a "master" of a specific attribute they posses and an get a few extra skills.
An example of this would be for a warrior. If a warrior so choses after ascension that they only want to dedicate themselves to the life of the warrior, they could become a "weapons master" They could get the abilities to dual wield swords, dual wield axe, create weapons with certain materials.. and so forth. This type of extension could be used for all of the classes. An ele could gain a higher perception of their skill and be able to lowe the spell costs of their spells. This would be much more fun, and let us have much other opportunities above and beyond what we allready have without involving much new coding.
As for new classes i would like to see wither a shapeshifter or a draconian. A shapeshifter could take the form of any animal he can see on hide screen at any point.. he would highlite the animal and hit the shapeshift skill and voila! there are so many more skills we could come up wiht for that class. But the nice thing would be, each animal in the game would have a customer set of skills that would supercede the skills he brought with him for the mission. Draconians would be cool in that they could possible fly for a short duration. They could come with a skill like stone skin or something like that and not use any armour. The possiblitlies would be awesome!

I do like your ascension idea. It makes a lot of sense, really. As for the classes... I think ArenaNet did a wonderful job of covering all of the different play styles that are feasable. I don't think a Draconian just kinda flying around makes way too much sense. As for the shapeshifter, there aren't really many skills for him to aquire, being as the only logical one is shapeshift. So how exactly would he be a good PvP character if there is only one skill to unlock. Technically, he would be unstoppable in pvp because when he shapeshifts, he could have access to skills that he may not have even unlocked yet. You could just bring a group of shapeshifters into a match and just copy the entire other team. All their hard work in collecting skills is now washed down the drain.

As a player who is a Pyromancer and doesn't use features from my secondary profession unless I fancy a change, I think your idea of a post-ascension option to have a "pure" profession is a great idea.

Yea, my biggest suggestion to ANET would the idea of choosing to be able to have a pure class with slightly more powers/skills since you wouldnt be able to bring along a second class. Hopefully this could come to fruition since it requires significantly less coding than having to compleley make a new class from scratch.
who knows!

I do like the idea of master classes a lot, but i do see one potential problem - would a master elementalist class (for instance) totally supercede your dual class elementalist? If creating a single profession character allowed you to be more effective at those roles which the profession is used for, dual characters might just become pointless in higher level contexts.
