I got me one of them fancy Ithas bows from a preorder and i have a question.

it says Piercing Damage 13-25 reqired 10 Marksmanship
+5 armor required 10 expertise

thats very cool and all but what is the damage range for it before you have the 10 marksmanship? Should i be using a differnt bow till i get those points?

if you don't meet the requirements of an item - the attribute will not be aplied.
In your case the bow will have the same damage values as a starter bow.

So use another bow until you have enough attribute points

I also have the ithas bow, and it does 5-10 damage for me normally. I normally do 7, but if they're at a higher elevation, or are resistant, then I do 5.....if you're wondering, I have 1 marksmanship

Now does it scale as you get closer to 10 marksmanship or will there be a sudden boost at 10? It seems to me like I do a little more as I raise marksmanship but am not totally sure.

I wouldn't know, my marksmanship is still only 1, so I haven't increased it enough to notice a change (I'm primarily an elementalist, so most of my points go towards air magic)

OK, I finally got up to 10 Marksmanship to properly use the Ithas Bow, but it still doesn't do as much damage as my other bow which only has up to 18max damage. The difference is significant, averaging 10+ points higher for my other bow.

Do I also need the expertise up to 10 to use it? Or is that only for the armor bonus?

Am I doing something wrong, or is the bow broken?

I thought the same thing about the ithas bow.

The ithas bow seems very good as a starter item, it does much more damage than the starter bow I must say. I've gone through pre-searing twice (with two different character). The first character was a Ranger and I used other bows because I thought Ithas would be ineffective. As an example, I died many times to the bears near Fobles Fair.

I recently tried using the Ithas on another character that was starting. The ithas basically owns anything in pre-searing with the exception maybe being hammers that you can find.

As for late game, I've used the Ithas for most of the game. I had a stint with a shortbow that I was particularly fond of, but overall the ithas works better. Once you exceed 10 in marksmanship, your damage should increase. For some reason, I believe the min req is 11 and not 10.

Are you kidding me? The Ithas Bow works perfectly ever since I got 10 Marksmanship points!

I used to do in between 5 to 12 damage. Ever since I met the requirements, I'm dealing an average of 25 to 70 damage! With special attacks I managed to hit 80 damage once! Remember, you have to be a Ranger to use the Ithas Bow to it's full potential! I'm not sure if this applies to people who took Ranger as a second profession yet, sorry, I did not test that yet.

Very powerful bow! I'm glad I pre-ordered the game from EBgames!

Is the only way to get this bow through pre-order, or can you eventually find one in the game?

IIRC, there is a guide about "game mechanics" that explains it. I read it once and I blelieve it was there, take a look at here.

Hope that helps.
Cheers.
