It's not as good as the monk build as you can't do enough damage. I built one when I couldn't afford the monk runes (now that A.net reset the economy, I can

I use...

Divine Boon
Ether Renewal
Protective Spirit
Balthazars Spirit
Essence Bond
Mending
Zealots Fire
Balthazars Aura

Usually tanking isn't the problem, it's that you just don't do enough damage with just Balthazars Aura and Zealots. The monks do it much quicker.

Some people still don't know what to make of these builds though. I was doing Arena in Droknar's Forge for the first time ever (I don't PVP but some guildies talked me into it). We went up against a monk, 2 elementalists and a warrior... My whole party died but I just tanked on for at least 10 minutes vs them all until I lagged out and died :*(

It was pretty fun, though.

Over all I'd say the build is still useful, sort of. If you bring a smiting monk with you it goes pretty fast, but definitely not as good as the monk build (in my opinion).

Self smiting.... never the answer... you are owned by the moving target.

E/Mo

Yes, I've had plenty of success with a 55hp E/Mo build similar to that posted by Divinus.
I'm now working on an N/Mo one which is again very similar.

That seems interesting. How exactly do AotL and protective bond work together? If they stack than you wouldn't need to bring a single healing spell outside of breeze.
