When did "Necromancer" ever mean Vampire? -.- I have yet to understand have a Necromancer has "Vampire Gaze" and "Vampiric Touch" (or skills somewhat spelled like that) Never have I yet to see a Vampire raise someone from the dead -.-

well, considering that in most fantasy settings necros usually deal with death, dead and UNdead as thier area of expertise... i dont understand why its a strectch for one to have spells that simulate the abilities of an undead creature... being that undead are thier area of specialty.

Necromancers are the ones who raise the dead, hence, they are not vampires, basically like ritualist with good skills to raise the dead :P

"Vampiric" = vampire like. Those two skills are linked to Blood Magic, and as they suck something out of your target, it's very appropriate to name them "Vampiric".

How about Snake Bite and Black Widow Touch....

in my opinion i think vampiric is closer to necromancer than snake or blackwidow

Necromancer has never meant Vampire, but in various mythology, Vampires have had Necromantic tendencies. However, a "Vampire" is not a profession, it's basically a species - now seeing as in Guild Wars, all the playable characters are of the same species, it would be out of place to name one character a Vampire - therefore a Necromancer is the closest ability that could theoretically be "learnt" (after all, you couldn't learn how to be a Vampire, only how to mimic their behavior to an extent).
