Nevermind, I found the answer using the search function. Sorry for cluttering up the board.

No, You have a choice.

You can uninstall the current cilent when you recieve the game disc, and then insert the game cd and download it off there, this way you also get alot of nice artwork and stuff, so i prefer cd install.

The other choice is just leave the cilent in, and enter your retail code on it, but you wont recieve any of the nice artwork this way.

It dosnt really matter, both have the same cilent, just the cd also gives artwork and stuff if you download that cilent.

The short answer is no. The retail version will install right over the beta. The long answer is that you don't even need to install the retail version. However it will install all the maps and stuff that would otherwise have to be downloaded as you play. Either way it doesn't make a lot of difference. If you're on a 56K connection I DEFINITELY recommend installing the retail version otherwise you'll be downloading for days. I didn't check my gw.dat file but I saw where someone elses went up to 978M after the retail install.

The full game is 2 gb so it's better not download it, but why do they actually give you the option to keep the client? That seems kind of weird to me.

Just ran the retail install:

gw.dat = 1.08 GB (1*167*979*008 bytes)
gw.exe = 3.25 MB (3*407*872 bytes)

The 2GB limit is for it to be able to grow with new streamed content.
