Stickied Thread in Screenshot Board

Alright, as everyone by this point has noticed...there are an insane amount of threads in the screenshot section that do not by any means deserve their own thread, half of them are just "I think this screenshot was neat", well that's great, but it gets tiring going through all the different threads only to be greeted with average in-game rubbish.

Can we please have a mod create a "General Neat Screenshots Thread" and have it stickied in that board? Please? A stickied thread for everyone to just post screenshots they think are neat I think would be a load of help, not only for the viewers having to go through the place, but just to keep things cleaner...I think it'd get rid of many negative posts in threads when the people get pissed that there's a thread for such a cruddy screenshot.

Now I know I've not the right to judge what's cruddy and whats not, but I think it'd help a lot of there was a sticky thread just for the purpose of random neat images that don't deserve their own thread. It'd make it more ogranized viewing for me at least.

Huh... I was under the impression that screenshot threads going in the screenshot forum were ok. I don't understand the mentality behind the reasoning here. If there is a thread marked clearly with its contents, and it doesn't seem like an interesting thread, is there anything forcing anyone to click that link?

Pros of making a thread to rule them all:
-One thread, probably less than a page of threads in the entire forum with these standards.
-Easy access to... 1 thread? see cons
-Satisfaction of those who think screenshots aren't "worthy" of their own thread.

Cons:
-1 thread means a huge number of posts. Try searching a thread without having to go through every post in it. It's kind of like taking all your garbage and cramming it into a garbage bin. Sure it's neater, but if you actually want to look through it it's near impossible to find last week's newspaper.
-Who deems a screenshot worthy of having a thread? The screenshot police? Lock up the forum and protect it with a password, then. Make sure only people who know what the majority of others want can get in.
-The majority... is this something they want? Last I checked nobody really had a problem with not clicking a boring link, or pressing the back button upon seeing a dull first post.

We already have a "cool weapons" screenshot thread, but that doesn't really stop people from posting their weapons in new threads too.

One thing I do notice, however, is that the screenshot forum mods are rarely there, so pretty much anything there goes unchecked. A more uh.. active mod group could probably help that, deleting all abusive or threatening speech from threads and just generally keeping the place clean. That would certainly get rid of the negative posts which, by my experience, will be there to criticize whether there's a thread there or not

The way I see it, you'd still have a fair amount of threads because you'd still have those who think every screenshot of old ascalon is godly, so they'll still be creating threads of their own, but for those who understand that their screenshot probably isn't life changing but still wants to post, they could throw it up there. I mean hell, people are always going to be posting their own threads, it's not like it'd be lord and master of all screenshot threads. And of course the poster has the last say when it comes to what's "worthy" of a thread in his or her own opinion, but there are some out there who post like 8 screenshots in 5 minutes and each one in a different thread no matter how pointless or uninteresting they are, it's much easier just to click a thread with say, an album of all peoples screenshots and filter through them.

And no there isn't anyone forcing me, or anyone else to click the links, but most people don't clearly label their threads, instead they give them interesting names, and post a normal screenshot of say, a charr. Big deal.

Also there is a search button on the forums, finding a post with a screenshot in a huge thread is by no means a big deal. Hell I find specific posts in the Off-Topic Thread Part Deux all the time, and do you have any idea how many posts that thing is? The search feature is godly.

The majority, do they want it? I don't know. Does the majority NOT want it? I don't see a problem with adding a thread that can't really have any negative affects as a whole. It would organize all the (or a good part of) the average screenshots, if anything make it easier to find as opposed to having to click thread after thread searching for something you saw, especially if it's been pushed back multiple pages and the thread title has nothing to do with the screenshot (as is often the case).

It would basically be like your example, the "cool weapons" thread, it'd grow to be large, multiple pages and keep things organized, but it would not stop new threads from arising, as you've also given example of for that thread.

Weapons
Getting drunk (xD)
